Did you know the Midwest Pediatric Device Consortium (MPDC) is a newly formed FDA-funded consortium led by Nationwide Children's Hospital, The Ohio State University State University, Cincinnati Children's, and Cleveland Clinic Children’s, launched to utilize the resources of the Midwest to advance pediatric device development across the country? This fall’s first #MPDC Showcase Event included a panel discussion with our team member JD Friedland, Managing Partner, Cleveland Clinic Ventures, covering the commercialization of pediatric medical device solutions, featuring representatives from Nationwide Children’s Hospital, AngelEye Health, and OrthoPediatrics; moderated by Project Medtech. The panel addressed critical topics such as venture funding, market adoption, and the strategic importance of hospital systems in the success of pediatric devices. This program provides specific funding for devices and resources for inventors to advance their projects. The FDA awarded a $6.95 million grant to the collaboration to establish the MPDC and to provide funding, resources, networking, clinical trial infrastructure, a commitment to under-served populations, real-world evidence, and collaboration with other national PDCs. It is an honor to be a part of this great cause for the future of healthcare! https://hubs.li/Q02Y-RSc0 #PediatricInnovation #MedicalDevices #HealthcareInnovation #MedTech #PediatricHealthcare #ClevelandClinic #ClevelandClinicInnovations

🚀 Client spotlight: Aspire Therapy Alliance 🚀 @aspire_therapy_alliance is a pediatric speech pathology and physiotherapy practice located in a small regional town on the Mid-North Coast of NSW. Given the high demand for their services and limited local supply, they weren’t after a flashy promotional website. Instead, the goal was to create an educational and administrative tool to streamline client inquiries and book qualified leads quickly. 👩⚕️👶 For parents, navigating pediatric therapy can be overwhelming. Often, they’ve spent months—sometimes years—seeking answers. It was important that Aspire Therapy Alliance didn’t feel clinical or cold. The design and tone of the site had to reassure parents that Aspire would provide a comfortable, holistic space where their child’s needs would be understood and addressed with care. Built on @Squarespace, the site not only acts as a preview of how Aspire Therapy Alliance operates, but it also automates much of their client intake process, freeing up time for what really matters: caring for their patients. This project is proof that with a strong understanding of your audience and the right design choices, you can create a functional, impactful tool with just the basics. 🙌 . . . . . #WebDesign #PediatricTherapy #WebsiteLaunch #SpeechPathology #Physiotherapy #Squarespace #AlliedHealth #WebsiteDesign #SmallBusinessWebsite #AussieBusiness #SupportLocal #SmallBiz

Pediatric Flatfoot: Is There a Need for Surgical Referral? by Manuel Vergillos Luna, Adyb Khal, Kara A. Milliken, Federico Solla, Virginie Rampal J. Clin. Med. 2023, 12(11), 3809; https://lnkd.in/ddhkTH29 Abstract #Pediatric #foot deformities are a common finding, concerning up to 44% of preschool aged children. The absence of accepted international guidelines makes management of pediatric #flatfoot a challenge. The objective of this narrative review is to provide guidance to primary care #physicians managing these patients. Flatfoot is a common finding in children under 10 years old, and should not be considered pathological unless stiffness or functional limitation are present. Surgical referral should be reserved to children with stiff or painful flatfoot, while simple observation is indicated for flexible, asymptomatic flatfeet.
