A survey by Yello shows recruiters spend 67% of their time on interviews. A well-structured interview enhances the candidate experience and helps you find the right talent. On the flip side, unstructured interviews can deter candidates, even if they're the perfect fit for the role. #CandidateExperience #Recruitment #InterviewTips

Enhancing Candidate Experience During Interviews is something I often hear from TA leaders. The comment I reply with 🤩, "The interview process is a two-way street." One tip for any recruiter: Don’t just assess candidates engage with them. A positive interview experience reflects well on you and the org and helps build long-term relationships, even with those who aren’t selected. Tips to interviewers In job interviews, some may believe in using a tough approach to test a candidate's reactions under pressure. However, based on my own experience, I've found that giving candidates the space to relax and be themselves often leads to more genuine insights into their attitudes. When individuals feel at ease, they are more likely to showcase their true personalities and abilities. >Start the interview with a friendly greeting and engage in some casual conversation. >Share some information about the organization. >Frame the interview as a conversation rather than an interrogation. #jobinterviews #recruitment #talentacquisition

Interviews have gotten out of control at some orgs: (1) Excessive interviews and excessive demands about projects and prompts that are not well thought out (2) Team members invited to interview a candidate without even knowing why they are there (3) Inviting team members who have no visibility or interaction with that role in any way. Make interviews short, meaningful, and quick. Pleasantries are nice, but cut to the chase and see if the candidate is the right technical and cultural fit.

Long process interviews can be helpful in some situations but they are not a fit for all roles. Conducting a long process for a PM role where a director and CPO are involved is a waste of resources and shows that the org has a loose structure with competing levels of interest. They also pressure the candidate to become *too* creative to make an impact where frankly it is not needed.

● Job Interview Process: A Curious Case of Double Interviews ● I’ve been pondering something recently: why do some companies conduct two interviews for the same position when they often ask the same questions in both? While I understand the importance of thorough evaluations, it can feel redundant and time-consuming for candidates. Does this practice really add value to the hiring process, or is it just a way to prolong it? I’d love to hear thoughts from fellow professionals and recruiters. What’s your experience with multiple interviews, and do you think they provide genuine insights into a candidate’s suitability? #JobInterviews #HiringProcess #Recruitment

Has your interview process changed over recent years? The people we speak to and the candidates we search for are busy; you know that better than anyone! One of the most lasting changes we've seen happen over the past few years has been the shift towards virtual interviews - particularly initial screening calls. It frees up a tremendous amount of time that would typically have been spent travelling and gives all parties a quick way to initially gauge whether or not the candidate is likely to be a good personality fit. Have you implemented virtual interviews in your hiring process? Are there any other changes you've implemented in recent years to make your recruitment process more efficient? Let us know what's worked (and what hasn't) by commenting below. #VirtualInterviews #InterviewTips #ExecutiveHeadhunters

How many interviews are too many interviews? Balancing thorough assessment with respect for candidates' time is key in hiring. Excessive interview stages can deter top talent and signal poor candidate experience. Efficiency is crucial. Consider setting clear timelines: 📌 Review resumes and contact candidates within 48 hours. 📌 Keep the entire interview process to a maximum of 3 rounds, with no more than 1 week between each. 📌 Provide feedback within 24 hours of interviews. 📌 Extend offers or notify candidates of decisions within 24 hours of final interviews. Transparency is key. Explain the entire process upfront to manage expectations and ensure a positive candidate experience. Let's rethink how we hire to attract and retain the best talent. How many interview stages do you believe are too many? #candidateexperience #hiringbestpractices #verybusytalks
