Do. Not. Look. Away. You careerists, especially those in big tech, enabled this with your silence. Last night, unprecedented levels of brutality surfaced from Rafah, as bombs were haphazardly dropped on the tents of displaced families, in the middle of the night, in humanitarian safe zones where they were told to flee. Let me repeat: Bombs were haphazardly dropped. On Tents. Of displaced families. In the middle of the night. In humanitarian safe zones. Do you grasp how sickeningly depraved that is? How utterly devoid of humanity? Well, your employers clearly don't, because instead of staying as far away from the (now officially) criminal Zionist entity as possible, big tech continues to provide the technology and compute that enables them to function. Microsoft is this the type of organization you want to empower? Google is this what "do no evil" means? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is this the history you want to make? Is supporting an organization where the stated KPI is the number of children slaughtered good for your business? Is the hypocrisy of committing to ESG goals while you simultaneously support those committing a live-streamed holocaust good for your brand image? Is this how you build customer trust? --- If you are working in tech, as an employee and shareholder you have a moral and fiduciary obligation to speak up. Sign the petition https://lnkd.in/emjmbH6m. Talk to your managers. Let them talk to their managers. Make it an important issue at every step of the organizational hierarchy. Bring it up all the way to the top. Bring it up in town halls. Bring it up in shareholder meetings. Let your leaders know you refuse to be complicit. No "strategic goal" is worth being a part of this. No TC is worth the stain on your soul. If you were outraged by the beheading of 40 fake babies, then what about the massacre of tens of thousands of real ones? And if you feel this doesn't concern you, make no mistake, this same tech will find its way back home. "This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal." Do not let this become normal. If it does, one day this will be you. One day this will be your child. Is that the future you want to build?

The tech ecosystem has changed a lot since I first started many years ago. Today, it is much easier to enter the industry. For example, SaaS products have made it simple for people with little technical experience to be part of the tech world. But even with this low barrier to entry, many people still find it challenging. This is because non-technical people are trying to do roles that require technical skills, which can be hard for them compared to someone with proper training in tech. As of 2024, I have noticed a shift. Businesses are starting to understand that it is better to have tech work done by trained tech professionals instead of non-technical people. It feels like we are going back to a time when tech roles were done by people with technical expertise. I think this is a good thing. Expectations from businesses have grown, and having the right people in the right roles helps meet those expectations. It is exciting to see this shift, and I believe it will lead to better results in the future.

The IT services playbook hasn’t been updated in decades. And for anyone who’s still banking on traditional business and word-of-mouth referrals, here's a wake-up call: the meteor is coming. → Companies are stuck in the past - Relying on outdated technologies while the world is getting reshaped by the impact of LLMs and new cloud ecosystems. → We’re a country of invisible brands - Online presences that're virtually nonexistent. If a company isn't active digitally, does it even exist in today's market? → They’re caught in the price trap - Competing on cost alone in a saturated market is not a strategy—it's a surrender. → Talent is walking out – Attrition is not some ‘reality’ to be lived with. Stop watching your best people leave because they're craving innovation and growth you can't offer. Mid-sized IT/ITES firms are one of the major pillars of our economy. So, what's the plan? Hope for a miracle or make a move? What's stopping us from evolving? Is it comfort, complacency, or just not knowing where to start? #ITServices #Innovation #GrowthMindset #DigitalTransformation

I have seen some people market tech to enthusiasts and newbies as a get-rich-quick scheme because they see those who fall for their lies as cash cows. Oftentimes, they’re not making the money they profess by the skills they’re selling you, they’re just capitalizing on your desperation. But here’s the truth, tech is not a Ponzi scheme. It’s not something you rush into and expect to cash out immediately. The people you envy in the industry didn’t just wake up one morning and find themselves successful. They worked, struggled, and put in the hours, often behind the scenes where no one was watching. It’s easy to think success in tech is instant because we only see the finished product, the big wins, the high-paying jobs, and the opportunities. But behind all of that is consistency, failure, learning, and perseverance. The beautiful thing about tech, though, is that when it does decide to reward you for your dedication, it pays you back in full. The opportunities, recognition, and financial gains make all the hard work feel worth it. So don’t fall for the fast-money hype. Stay consistent, keep learning, and trust that in time, your efforts will pay off. If you found this helpful, please share it with others. "It isn’t that “everything is enshittified.” It’s that everybody’s pursuit of growth has changed the incentive behind how we generate value in the world, and software enables a specific kind of growth-lust by creating virtual nation states with their own digital despots... I believe that we exist in a continual tension with the Rot Economy and the growth-at-all-costs mindset. I believe that the friction we feel on platforms and apps between what we want to do and what the app wants us to do is one of the most underdiscussed and significant cultural phenomena, where we, despite being customers, are continually berated and conned and swindled. I believe billions of people are in active combat with their devices every day, swiping away notifications, dodging around intrusive apps, agreeing to privacy policies that they don’t understand, desperately trying to find where an option they used to use has been moved to because a product manager has decided that it needed to be somewhere else... How much of your life is dodging digital debris, avoiding scams, ads, apps that demand permissions, and endless menu options that bury the simple things that you’re actually trying to do?... I will never forgive these people for what they’ve done to the computer, and the more I learn about both their intentions and actions the more certain I am that they are unrepentant and that their greed will never be sated... But what I can tell you is that you can live your life with a greater understanding of the incentives of those who control the internet and have made your digital lives worse as a means of making themselves rich. I can tell you to live with more empathy, understanding and clarity into the reasons that people around you might be angry at their circumstances, as even those unrelated to technology are made worse by exploitative, abusive and pernicious digital manipulation. This is a moment of solidarity, as we are all harmed by the Rot Economy. We are all victims. It takes true opulence to escape it, and I'm guessing you don't have it. I certainly don't. But talking about it — refusing to go quietly, refusing to slurp down the slop willingly or pleasantly — is enough. The conversations are getting louder. The anger is getting too hard to ignore. These companies will be forced to change through public pressure and the knowledge of their deeds. Holding these people to a higher standard at scale is what brings about change. Be the wrench in the machine." by Ed Zitron https://lnkd.in/dGc_2ZTP

Phenomemal piece by Ed Zitron: Never Forgive them “These people want everything from you — to control every moment you spend working with them so that you may provide them with more ways to make money, even if doing so doesn’t involve you getting anything else in return. Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and a majority of tech platforms are at war with the user, and, in the absence of any kind of consistent standards or effective regulations, the entire tech ecosystem has followed suit. A kind of Coalition of the Willing of the worst players in hyper-growth tech capitalism. Things are being made linearly worse in the pursuit of growth in every aspect of our digital lives, and it’s because everything must grow, at all costs, at all times, unrelentingly, even if it makes the technology we use every day consistently harmful.”
