Delighted to continue to collaborate with #ETFStream at another great event. Interesting panel debate with Caroline Shaw where the panel outlined a broadly positive view for the US looking into 2025. For further details of Fidelity 2025 Outlook https://lnkd.in/ev_8FJVP Markets have interpreted the economic implications of Donald Trump’s re-election, namely looser fiscal policy, deregulation and trade protectionism, as positive for US growth, the dollar and risk assets, but negative for those of its trading partners. We are therefore witnessing increased interest in US equity solutions, even if investors acknowledge that increased political and macroeconomic uncertainty could drive market volatility higher down the line. However, we believe an active approach is warranted as the election result could increase bifurcation of returns and potentially drive a change in performance leadership across the US equity market Our Irish-domiciled active US equity ETF, the Fidelity Sustainable Research Enhanced US Equity UCITS ETF Fidelity Sustainable Research Enhanced US Equity UCITS ETF ACC-USD | IE00BKSBGS44 | Equity Funds (primary ticker: FUSR IM), aims to deliver alpha alongside low tracking error (and beta close to 1) versus its benchmark, the MSCI USA Index. I was delighted to join William Hobbs Guy Foster and ETF Stream’s Jamie Gordon to discuss the outlook for US equities and using ETFs to access them. We focused on the impact of proposed Trump policies, looked at earnings prospects and considered inflation and Fed action. No major difference of opinion between us though - all positive for the short term at least. Active ETFs got a mention too. It’s a growing area and Fidelity International is now the 3rd largest provider in Europe as we see strong client interest in our differentiated solutions. Thanks to ETF Stream for the invite and to Elliot Date and Ray Paulding IMC DipPFS for the support at the event.
