Salam and happy Thursday all, Today, Malaysia and the Muslim world observe Nuzul Quran, marking the descent of the Quran's first verses to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) during Ramadan. This day highlights the beginning of divine guidance that spans every aspect of life. In Malaysia, it's a public holiday, recognising the Quran's significance beyond the Muslim community, as a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment. Here are 10 Quick Facts about the Holy Quran: 1. Structure: 114 chapters (surahs), divided into 30 parts/chapters. 2. Revelation Time: Began in Ramadan. 3. Duration: Revealed over 23 years: 13 in Mecca, 10 in Medina. 4. Reading Rewards: Each letter read equals 10 rewards. 5. Extremes: Baqarah is the longest chapter; Kawthar, is the shortest. 6. Divine Delivery: Revealed through angel Jibril to Muhammad (PBUH). 7. Prophetic Age: The Prophet was 40 at the first revelation. 8. Meaning: The Quran means "that which is being read." 9. Prophets Mentioned: Names 25 prophets. 10. Judgment Day: Will intercede for its reciters. As someone reconnecting with the Quran, I've found profound wisdom within. It offers solace and guidance through challenges, embodying perseverance and kindness. Regardless of your faith, Ramadan offers a chance to explore the Quran's teachings. Let's appreciate its universal values and strive to be kinder, better humans. This reflection comes from personal exploration, not scholarly authority. The Quran's beauty lies in its unique voice to each of us. Let's embrace today with reflection, learning, and the gentle guidance that has touched billions of hearts worldwide.#NuzulQuran #Ramadan #Learning #Reflection #UniversalWisdom

Muslims observe fasting during Ramadan for several reasons, rooted in both the Quran and Hadith: . Quranic Command (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:185): "The month of Ramadan [is the month] in which the Quran was sent down, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion..." (English translation from Sahih International) This verse establishes Ramadan as the divinely ordained month for fasting, emphasizing the Quran's revelation during this time. Spiritual Growth and Taqwa (Piety) (Hadith, Bukhari:6): . "Fasting is a shield, so whoever fasts should avoid sexual relations and obscene speech. If someone argues with him or insults him, he should say, ‘I am fasting.’” (English translation from Sahih Bukhari) This Hadith highlights the role of fasting in cultivating self-restraint and piety. By abstaining from physical desires, Muslims can focus on spiritual development and strengthen their connection with Allah (SWT). . Empathy for the Less Fortunate: Experiencing hunger firsthand fosters compassion for those less fortunate. Fasting allows Muslims to share the experience of those in need and appreciate the blessings they often take for granted. . Discipline and Self-Control: Fasting demands discipline and self-control. By abstaining from food and drink, Muslims cultivate willpower and resilience, qualities beneficial in all aspects of life. In essence, Ramadan serves as a multifaceted spiritual exercise, fostering piety, empathy, self-control, and a deeper appreciation for the Quran's guidance. . #Ramadan #Quran #Hadith #SpiritualGrowth #Taqwa #Empathy #SelfControl #Discipline

Salam & hello everyone! Time flies, and two weeks of #Ramadan are almost done. As we're still in the holy month, I'd like to share insights into this sacred time with my non-Muslim friends and colleagues, hoping to bridge understanding and foster a sense of #community. 1. Why it’s wise to avoid calls around 7 PM to 8 PM: During Ramadan, Muslims in Malaysia gather to break their fast and engage in prayer at this time, marking a moment of #gratitude and family unity. If possible, try to avoid calling or requesting anything from your Muslim colleagues during these hours. Remember, prayer times can vary significantly across different regions and seasons. 2. The Essence of Tarawih Prayers: Unique to Ramadan, Tarawih prayers are held after the Isha prayer and can last until about 10:30 PM. These prayers offer a chance for deeper #spiritual #reflection and are a significant part of the Ramadan experience. If a friend opts out of post-Iftar gatherings, it’s often to participate in Tarawih. 3. As additional point, for Friday Prayers (Sembahyang Jumaat): From 12:30 PM to 2 PM on Fridays, it's best to avoid scheduling meetings as Muslim men typically attend the mosque for Friday prayers. This weekly observance is a pivotal part of #Muslim #faith, involving communal prayers and a sermon, highlighting the importance of community in Islam. Like Tarawih and Iftar times, these practices reflect the rich diversity within the Muslim community and can vary from one place to another. Understanding and respecting these practices greatly enhances our workplace and community #harmony. Here’s to a month filled with kindness, mutual #respect, and learning from each other’s #traditions. Wishing everyone a #peaceful and #insightful Ramadan. Let’s continue to support and learn from one another, #celebrating the #diversity that #unites us. If you find this sharing useful, feel free to like, comment, or share.

🌙 Today marks the 4th day of Ramadan, a month of deep spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. Let's reflect on the purpose of fasting as mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 185. 1️⃣ The Reason Behind Fasting: Ever wondered why we fast? It's not just because it's a tradition or one of the five pillars of Islam. Fasting is a way to connect with our Creator, Allah, and strengthen our spiritual selves. Goal of Fasting: The main goal of fasting is to attain taqwa, which means being mindful of Allah's commands and avoiding what displeases Him. It's about training ourselves to submit to Allah and become better individuals. How Fasting Helps Achieve Taqwa: Fasting teaches us self-discipline by saying no to our desires, especially during Ramadan when we refrain from food and drink. This helps us resist temptation and become more mindful of Allah's presence in our lives. other Benefits of Fasting: Fasting isn't just about refraining from food; it's about purifying our hearts and minds. It helps us empathize with the less fortunate, strengthens our faith, and improves our health. Conclusion: Fasting isn't just a physical act; it's a spiritual journey to draw closer to Allah. Let's embrace fasting with sincerity and gratitude, seeking His blessings and guidance throughout Ramadan. May Allah make our fasting easy and rewarding, and may He accept our prayers and good deeds. Ameen. 🤲🏼 #RamadanReflection #fasting #Taqwa
