Developing textile structures from marine waste and resources? At CeNTI, it's possible! How? At Vertical Textiles, within the Blue Bioeconomy Pact, algae and discarded fishing nets are being used to create new materials, which will then be applied to textiles for clothing and footwear. These innovations will have a positive impact on the environment and on the lives of all of us! The PBA – Blue Bioeconomy Pact is a disruptive agenda that seeks to address the global challenge of land resource scarcity. Interested in learning more about this Project? To enable circular textiles as efficiently as possible, Eeden has developed their technology based on the ‘Green Chemistry Principles’. The upcycling technology recovers cellulose from cotton and transforms polyester into its basic building blocks. Both products can then be processed into new, high-quality textile fibers. #𝐧𝐚𝐍𝐞𝐚 — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭-𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 Reintroducing naNea — a man-made textile material technology designed to replace conventional polyester. High Performance. Recyclable. No toxicants. Biodegradable. After our recent exhibitions and conferences, we would like to welcome our new followers with this series of posts about the next generation of polyester: naNea. Why naNea? ➡️ To easily substitute conventional polyester — incl. its performance. ➡️ Today, polyester is the main fiber for textiles used in e.g. fashion, sportswear, outdoor, workwear or automotive worldwide. ➡️ naNea prevents one of the major issues such as persistent micro and nano plastics, and harmful chemicals that currently end up in all our ecosystems. What’s more — naNea is a drop-in technology, meaning it can directly be integrated into existing manufacturing processes without the need for new equipment, making it both cost-effective and scalable. Curious to learn more about naNea? Follow us on LinkedIn, reach out to the team or visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gsdj-3ES Let’s play it ocean safe! #naNea #OceanSafe #NextGenMaterials #Circularity #NoToxicants #Biodegradable

1moLet's hope that the development and consequent application on an industrial scale of seaweed in the production of dyes will be a reality and there will be a huge reduction in water containing chemical dyes that are currently used and will help to have more sustainable oceans. Perform well with RDD Têxteis and other platforms. We work at recycling mechanical process to produce recycled fibers, without chemicals products. Much success and a better future for the textile industry. Good morning and happiness to your work Jessica Giannotti.
