October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s time we put ourselves first. We know that early detection is key, but the reality is, Black women are still facing higher risks and fewer resources. Let’s talk about it. Breastfeeding can lower your chances of breast cancer, but access to care should never be a question. This month, let’s educate, support, and uplift each other. Health is wealth, and together, we can make sure our voices are heard and our sisters are seen. 💪🏾💖 #ROSEBreastCancerAwareness #ProtectOurSisters #BreastfeedingAndBreastHealth

🎗️ Breast Cancer Awareness Month🎗️ Here’s what you need to know: 🔬 Early Detection Saves Lives: Self-exams and regular mammograms are key. Women over 40 should have mammograms every 1-2 years, but early screenings may be recommended if you have a family history. 📊 1 in 8 Women: That’s how many women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. It’s a staggering number, but awareness and education can make a difference. 💡 Know the Signs: Lumps aren’t the only symptoms. Watch for skin changes, nipple discharge, or any unusual pain in the breast area. If something feels off, see your doctor immediately. This month, let’s not just wear pink—let’s use our platforms to spread information, resources, and hope. Together, we can encourage early detection and help save lives. 💖 #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #StayInformed #FightAgainstBreastCancer

Breast cancer can develop in women of any age, even young women. The earlier it’s found, the much better chance you have of surviving it. It’s recommended you do breast self-checks each month from your 20s onwards to help with early detection. Getting to know the normal look and feel of your breasts can help you notice any changes that could indicate cancer or another problem. Making a regular habit to check your breasts is the smartest choice. Many women choose a day of the month (often the first day of each month) and set a calendar, diary or alarm reminder to make sure they don’t forget. Breast self-checks and breast screening with your GP can play a very important role in being breast aware.
