This week began with a powerful reminder of Global Cervical Cancer Elimination Day. Although the day has passed, the fight to eliminate cervical cancer is far from over. In the UK alone, 3,300 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year, yet it’s staggering to know that 99.8% of these cases are preventable! Cervical cancer can be prevented through vaccination, screening, and early treatment—but millions of women still lack access to these life-saving resources. At RDi, we are committed to improving healthcare, and we’ve been working hard to develop our at-home #HPV testing kits. The healthcare industry is on the verge of transforming HPV and cervical cancer diagnosis and management, and our HPV collection kits are a step forward in making routine screening more accessible to a wider population. Let’s keep pushing toward a future where cervical cancer is a thing of the past! Contact us to learn more: https://lnkd.in/esh-MKYZ #CervicalCancerElimination #HealthForAll #GlobalHealth #Diagnostics

October is breast cancer awareness month - #PinkOctober. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Europe. The European Commission has therefore made it a priority to fight cancer in the EU with its #EUCancerPlan With this plan, we want to both reduce the number of people who get cancer and improve the quality of life of patients. The plan is supported by a budget of €4 billion over 7 years and contains 4 main measures: ✔️ Prevention: Fewer people who smoke (EU ambition: to see a generation completely free of tobacco!), more vaccination against HPV, and fight against harmful alcohol consumption. ✔️ Early detection: Better access to screening for several types of cancer. ✔️ Diagnosis and treatment: Access to innovative care and integrated cancer centers. ✔️ Quality of life: Support for survivors and specific initiatives for children with cancer. Prevention and early detection are key; a message that the team of the European Commission representation in Belgium is happy to help spread #PinkOctober. #HealthUnion #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #komoptegenkanker #DagTegenKanker #SamenTegenKanker @komoptegenkanker

Exciting progress towards eliminating cervical cancer! At 10zyme we are thrilled to read about the $600 million pledge by the World Bank, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and UNICEF to fight cervical cancer globally. This significant investment highlights the growing recognition that cervical cancer is preventable and treatable, and it paves the way for increased access to vaccination, screening, and treatment, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Here at 10zyme, we're proud to contribute to the fight against cervical cancer by developing innovative diagnostic tools. We're developing the first at-home HPV test and results kit for cervical screening, empowering women to take control of their health conveniently and discreetly. Early detection is crucial in preventing cervical cancer, and our user-friendly test removes barriers to accessing vital information about HPV status. This aligns perfectly with the WHO's call for increased access and user-centricity in cervical cancer prevention strategies. Together, with global initiatives like this and innovative companies like 10zyme, we can truly make cervical cancer history. #cervicalcancer #HPV #prevention #diagnostics #womenshealth

This week marked a monumental step in the fight against cancer as the United States, Australia, India, and Japan united to launch the Quad Cancer Moonshot Initiative. This groundbreaking collaboration targets the reduction of cervical cancer—a largely preventable disease—across the Indo-Pacific region, setting the stage to combat other cancers in the future. Why Cervical Cancer? Cervical cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths among women in the Indo-Pacific. Despite being preventable through timely HPV vaccination and early screening, fewer than 10% of women in the region have completed their HPV vaccination series or undergone recent screening. Addressing this gap is crucial for saving lives and promoting women's health. At Cervivor, we are inspired by this global effort to end cervical cancer. Our mission aligns with the Quad Cancer Moonshot’s goals to empower advocates, enhance education, and drive impactful change in cancer prevention and care. 🔗 Read our Founder and Chief Visionary Tamika Felder’s exclusive blog on "Why the Patient Voice is Essential to the President’s New Global Commitment to End Cervical Cancer" here: https://lnkd.in/gY7mv2kC. #Cervivor #QuadCancerMoonshot #EndCervicalCancer #IndoPacificHealth #GlobalHealth #CancerPrevention #CervicalCancer #PatientAdvocacy #CervicalCancerScreening #HPVVaccination #CloseTheGap

Could we have an opportunity to turn the corner with closing the disparity gap with cervical cancer? Per the American Journal of Preventive Medicine Racial disparities in cervical cancer incidence and mortality across the U.S. are large, with Black women 30% more likely to develop and 60% more likely to die from cervical cancer than non-Hispanic White women. Hispanic women have a 51% higher age-adjusted incidence of cervical cancer than non-Hispanic White women. Despite better survival after diagnosis, their mortality rates are around 20% higher. The FDA approved self-swabbing and collection for HPV tests that could increase access to many. This may be a game changer in combination with the HPV vaccine. Cervical cancer is one of the slow growing cancers that can be cured with early detection. The vaccine has also tremendously decreased new diagnoses of high-risk HPV strains that typically lead to cervical cancer. Ladies, if you have not obtained cervical cancer screening, please make sure that you are up to date, as there are different testing schedules determined by age and risk level. #healthcareinnovation #cancerscreening #cancerprevention #cervicalcancer Article in comments 🔽
