🌍 Our partner organisation, Campaign For ROOH, recently attended the Innovate 4 Cities conference, where they contributed their expertise on climate resilience in urban environments. The event brought city leaders, researchers, and innovators together to address the most pressing challenges facing #cities today. 🏡 ROOH led several impactful sessions, including one focused on the challenges of extreme heat in informal settlements. They highlighted evidence of rising temperatures up to 6-10 degrees in some areas and the severe consequences for densely populated regions that become heat islands. Their session emphasised the need for community-driven solutions, particularly for vulnerable groups such as women and children, and the critical role of city leadership in implementing strategies to support affected communities. 🗣️ In addition to these sessions, ROOH participated in plenary discussions, advocating for city climate action that is inclusive, fair, and just. Their work is helping ensure that as cities develop climate strategies, no one is left behind. 🤝 We are proud to support ROOH in its mission to build more resilient and inclusive cities, and we look forward to continued collaboration in addressing the global challenges of climate change. #Innovate4Cities #ClimateAction #UrbanResilience #SustainableCities #InclusiveClimateAction Sheela Patel Hannah Jayne Robinson (PhD)
