💡 Only 2 weeks left until Giving Tuesday! Are you ready for Giving Tuesday? You should be wrapping up your campaign details and getting ready for this national day of giving. Jitasa’s Giving Tuesday tip of the week: Schedule social posts ahead of time. On December 3rd, you’ll have a lot to do to make the most of your Giving Tuesday campaign! Take one thing off of your plate by scheduling your social media posts ahead of time. The following tips will help you make sure your social posts are ready to roll: 🔸 Draft all of your posts for Giving Tuesday and the order in which you’ll post them. 🔸 Use a scheduling tool to schedule many Giving Tuesday posts throughout the day. 🔸 Try including a countdown to the end of Giving Tuesday to create urgency to give to your campaign. 🔸 Create a hashtag for your Giving Tuesday event and make sure attendees know what it is, so they can also join in the Giving Tuesday fun. Pro Tip: Handwrite a note for special donors—those who’ve had your back in previous year-end drives. Personal touches go a long way. Don’t wait—7.7% of nonprofits start in September, and more than half in October. Early birds avoid the dreaded recycling bin fate. Tomorrow is one of my FAVORITE days of the year: GivingTuesday! 🥳 If you're a nonprofit, you are well aware of what tomorrow brings. And hopefully you're as excited as I am! Be sure to seize the day: 1. Have an active campaign to promote 2. Get the word out that you ARE fundraising on this day of generosity 3. Make it easy to give 💰 Not all nonprofits want to participate in Giving Tuesday, or think the hype isn’t worth it. I've heard from many organizations that say there's too much competition and that they'll be overlooked. Or they question how much support can REALLY come in on just one day, so assume the effort isn't worth their time. To these organizations I'd like to say – let's reconsider. As a donor, I get frustrated when a nonprofit I love doesn't participate. I joyfully want to support them on a day that celebrates giving back. If they don't ask for donations (and make it easy to give) it's a real bummer, and that donation may go to a different organization instead. And with my fundraiser hat on, I'm disheartened that they missed out on a such a great opportunity to connect with their community. Whether you're launching a specific Giving Tuesday campaign, or promoting an EOY campaign, be sure to participate and get the word out to your supporters! Have an easy, virtual way for them to give, and make that link impossible to miss. And of course share, share, share.
