While there are many AI efforts afoot for drug development, success ultimately hinges on the quality of input data. #VCs continue to pour money into innovative platforms in 2023 and beyond, that could revolutionize the #biotech sector. Innovative platform technologies such as #drugdiscovery enabled by machine learning (ML), #celltherapies, #genetherapies and #geneediting technology have dominated #biotechfunding over the past few years because they tend to address a broad array of indications. Not surprisingly, two-thirds of the investment from 2019-2021 went to #biotech companies with next-generation biotech platform technologies that constitute a base or infrastructure on which other therapies can be developed, and could #transform the industry.
