However, it's also a time of immense growth and learning. St. Catharines-Niagara Employment Update - July 2024 📊 As of July 2024, St. Catharines-Niagara’s employment landscape shows encouraging signs of improvement. The unemployment rate decreased to 8%, down 0.4% from the previous month. While still above the long-run average, this marks a significant recovery from the peak in June 2020, where unemployment reached 7.3% higher than today. July also brought positive news for full-time employment, with 4,000 more full-time positions compared to June. Although part-time jobs saw a slight decline of 100, the overall job market grew by 3,900 jobs. However, full-time employment is still 4,600 jobs short of the peak in June 2022, yet it has rebounded with 7,400 more jobs since the trough in August 2023. Our region’s job market continues to adapt and grow, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges.
