The job of an assessor is very tricky. They have to stay unbiased, non-judgmental, professional, and yet friendly and cordial with the assesses. Sometimes, it is very difficult to avoid your personal beliefs from influencing your observations and measurements. This is why #NABH has integrated this topic in the training program for NABH Assessors. Recently had an opportunity to deliver a talk on Effective Communication and interpersonal skills for assessment, at two such programs organised by #NABH for the assessors training at Delhi. There is a scene in Ramayana when Bharata comes to Lord Rama seeking wise counsel for ruling the Kingdom in his absence. One of the Counsel is as under: "I hope the best servants are engaged in superior tasks, medium ones in medium tasks and the inferior ones in inferior tasks." Give people tasks that they are suited for. Giving smart people dumb tasks frustrates them, and giving dumb people difficult tasks adds no productivity. As a king, it is up to you to make the best use of the human resources you have available" As Managers we need to see the right fitments before assigning the jobs to our team. It is unusual these days for employers to offer a job without the need for a probation period. It is usual for these to be included within your contract of employment and can be for any period of time (depending on the role). Some employers will say that an official confirmation is required at the end of the probation to confirm your employment is permanent and others will be silent (ie if you are still sat in your seat after the probation period, you know you are there to stay). However, it is a lovely way to start a week with confirmation that you have passed your probation period and you are not being kicked out of the door...... So happy to say that FMGS want me to stay and so happy to do so! #lovingworkinglife
