- OUR PURPOSE - Undergoing a rebranding process prompted deep reflection on what we wanted GR3N’s purpose to be: in a world struggling with the overabundance of plastic and diminishing resources, we recognize recycling and repurposing waste as vital components of environmental transformation. We are committed to using science as our guiding force to face these challenges, applying our expertise and tools at GR3N as our equipment to navigate the complexities of our current world. 🌍 As a result, we defined our purpose as "Facing the Challenge of a Changing World: Navigating Uncertainty with Science." We are proud to share that our portfolio company, the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority, announced a 34% increase in recycling collected in 3 municipalities. In 2024, across all 8 municipalities that they service, a total of 58M pounds of curbside recycling were collected, nearly 6M pounds more than the previous year. In spring of 2023, Closed Loop Partners' Infrastructure Group provided a $4M+ loan to fund new 95-gallon recycling carts provided by Rehrig Pacific Company, enabling an increase in tons of materials collected per year. This was done in collaboration with The Recycling Partnership who provided grant funding, technical support, education and outreach.
