When everyone else is floating, how do therapists stay grounded? 🌱 A little while ago, I found myself staring at my to-do list, which was somehow longer than my arm. Between scheduling, admin tasks, unexpected shifts and life’s little curveballs, it all feels like a mounting weight, yet somehow, it’s all part of the journey. As a therapist, I often get asked, “How do you do it? How do you stay steady when your work is to hold space for so much?” Well, here’s the honest answer: sometimes, I don’t. There are days when I feel like I’m floating right along with everyone else- drifting between tasks, conversations, and way too many tabs open in my brain. But over time, I’ve learned a few grounding practices that help me drop anchor and find my center again. Time to spill the tea, here’s what I do to ground myself amidst chaos. I pause. Even if it’s just 30 seconds to take a deep breath or feel my feet on the floor. It’s small, but it works. I connect. Whether it’s a quick chat with a trusted colleague, a check-in with my own therapist, or even texting a friend for a laugh, it’s a reminder I’m not alone. I say no. This one’s hard (really hard). But protecting my energy means I can show up fully when it matters most. And sometimes, I let myself float. Because grounding isn’t just about being steady, it’s also about letting go, resting, and trusting I’ll find my way back. This work isn’t easy, but it’s deeply rewarding. And while I don’t always have it all figured out, I’ve learned that staying grounded isn’t about being perfect, it’s about practicing presence, again and again. To my fellow therapists: How do you stay grounded? To everyone else: What’s your go-to when life feels like it’s pulling you in every direction? Let’s share and learn together. #TherapistReflections #GroundingPractices #MentalHealthCare Anjali Pillai Ishika Mahajan

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Why Therapy Playground Feels Like Home 🌟 We love hearing from our team, and this testimonial from one of our amazing COTAs really captures the essence of what makes Therapy Playground so special. "How weird is it that I miss my coworkers over the holidays?", I asked my family in 2022. "Pretty weird", they replied. But that is the magic of Therapy Playground. The words connectedness, responsible, and fun come to mind. As an OT, you provide your clients with tools to help them learn. Therapy Playground gives you the tools you need, too. From empowering leadership to rich conversations around neurodiversity, I quickly realized that this is more than just a workplace – it's a community. The hard work I put into my sessions is balanced with fair compensation, time for professional development, and the support I need to make ethical, complex clinical decisions. At the end of the week, I’m tired, but I wake up the next day excited to continue working in such a vibrant pediatric setting. If you're a therapist looking for a place where you can truly flourish, Therapy Playground might be the change you're seeking." We’re proud to support our team in their professional journeys and provide an environment where they can thrive personally and professionally. If you're looking for a workplace that values connection, growth, and fun, we’d love to hear from you! 💙 #TherapyPlayground #EmployeeTestimonial #TherapistLife #ProfessionalGrowth #PediatricTherapy #OT #CommunityAtWork

What's my primary goal as a therapist? To create safety. That largely sums it up. I want my clients to feel safe in my office. I want that safety to permeate their lives. I want that safety to allow them to grow, to take risks, to be "safely uncomfortable" and thereby accomplish their goals. There's a lot that I do to try to make this happen. Because comfort and safety can be closely related I start with the physical comfort of the space in which we meet. Comfortable chairs, climate control to the extent possible. But far more important is the emotional safety. I want my office to be a space in which there's no judgment. A space in which there is no fear of a breach of confidentiality. A space in which one can genuinely just be themselves, in which one can share what's on their mind freely, knowing deep in their soul that they will be equally accepted regardless of what they say. When clients realize that they are sitting in such a space, they can begin to trust, they can begin to open up. (There are some whose trauma makes this extremely difficult. Thankfully I'm usually able to do this for my clients.) Once the safety is established, amazing work can be done. So that's my primart goal in my work. What's yours? #eliavmsw #therapy #mentalhealth

🌟 Celebrating Our Positive Clinic Culture! 🌟 At Ivy Rehab for Kids, we believe that a supportive and affirming workplace culture is the foundation of exceptional patient care. One of the key elements that makes our clinic special is our Coworker Affirmation Board. 📝❤️ This board is more than just a space for sticky notes and messages; it’s a testament to our commitment to recognizing and uplifting each other. Here’s how it works: 🔹 Daily Affirmations: Team members can leave positive notes and words of encouragement for their colleagues. Whether it’s a simple “Great job on your presentation!” or “Thank you for your support today,” these small gestures go a long way in boosting morale and fostering a sense of community. 🔹 Celebrating Successes: We use the board to highlight achievements, big and small. From professional milestones to personal victories, every success is a shared celebration. 🔹 Building Connections: The affirmation board helps us connect on a deeper level. It’s a daily reminder of the incredible team we have and the collective effort we put into making our clinic a welcoming place for both staff and patients. Our culture of positivity and support doesn’t just happen; it’s cultivated through intentional actions and a shared commitment to each other’s well-being. This affirmation board is just one example of how we prioritize a healthy, happy work environment. 👏 Let’s continue to support, uplift, and celebrate each other. Together, we create a clinic culture that’s not only productive but also profoundly positive and inclusive. #ClinicCulture #PositiveWorkplace #TeamAffirmation #EmployeeWellbeing #HealthcareHeroes #TeamSupport #WorkplaceHappiness
