I give you permission to say, “No” to people you don’t want to work with… Years ago, I attended a conference where Dan Kennedy said something that changed my approach to business. He talked about not just attracting your ideal clients, but also repelling the ones who don’t align with your vision. Up until that point, I thought I had to cater to everyone—play nice, be accessible to all. But the truth is, that was holding me back. I was attracting clients who didn’t energize me, didn’t align with my goals, and didn’t appreciate the value we bring. Kennedy’s message gave me permission to let go of the fear of turning people away. By leaning into what makes our business unique—embracing our Amplifier and Rockstar essence—we stopped blending in and started standing out. We stopped competing on price and started attracting the clients who truly get what we do. It’s not just about getting clients; it’s about getting the right clients. Differentiation isn’t about doing what everyone else is doing. It’s about being bold enough to say, “This is who we are, and this is who we’re not.” If you're trying to be everything to everyone, maybe it's time to rethink that strategy.
