Hungary has announced complex renovation support after over a decade without major residential energy efficiency programs. The scheme is financed by the RePower EU Fund. However, the subsidy is designed in a way that favors richer households and excludes the poor: a €2560 own contribution is necessary, along with the requirement to take up a loan to cover upfront costs. In Hungary, a fifth of households have no savings at all, and altogether half of society has savings to cover a maximum of two months of the cost of living, which falls short of the required €2560. Once again, the rich will benefit from refunds for their energy retrofits, while non-bankable households and those with limited or no savings will be left behind. Proposal call: Water and Development Partnership Programme #oppurtunities The call will follow a two-stage selection process. Initial project ideas must be submitted by 9.00 CET on 18 March 2024, using the templates and guidelines provided below. Results will be shared by 8 April, and the teams behind the most promising ideas will be invited to submit full proposals by  9.00 CEST on 6 May 2024. The final selection will be announced at the end of June.  IHE Delft’s Water and Development Partnership Programme invites proposals for projects in the water sector with focus on research, education and/or capacity strengthening activities. This call for proposals targets inter- and transdisciplinary projects from non-European low-and middle-income countries that align with the programme’s focus, philosophy and approach. A maximum of 14 projects will be selected, each receiving a budget ranging from €50,000 to €100,000 for a working duration of two to three years. https://lnkd.in/gPvKHb2w
