See you at TIS ROMA 2024 International Conference in Rome on September 20th 2024, organized by AIIT_Italia 🗓 Together with Fabio Borghetti, Laura Ferretto and Benedetto Barabino we will present our work: “How to promote and implement Mobility as a Service? An Italian survey to learn about the propensity of users”. With this work, starting from the research I've been conducting for my Master's thesis, we have been deepening some specific topics gaining some more hints and a clearer picture to understand the Italian context of Mobility as a Service. In the last years, MaaS has been a heavily discussed term, but the trasnsport sector still lacks of a satisfactory offer in terms of scale and quality. A lot of work remains to be done, both on the regulatory and technological side. At the same time, we shall not forget the effort needed in terms of finding adaptable and scalable business models. Letter from the Board of the Joint European Disruptive Initiative 2024 was a challenging year for Europe, with continuous pressure from authoritarian regimes, increasingly polarized societies , growing dependencies (for energy and raw materials), looming deindustrialization and an increased gap to the US. 2024 was also a year where the vision of technology leadership, foresight and sovereignty developed by JEDI has proven right, since tech is critical in all these challenges: competitiveness, security and defense, and overall resilience of our societies. Our challenges remain a slow bureaucracy both in member states and at the EU level that has a very hard time to simplify its processes and entrust major civil-society actors like JEDI in managing part of its R&D budget to try other methods than the inefficient calls for proposals. This leads to a massive “waste of our common resources” as stressed by the Draghi Report where the Joint European Disruptive Initiative is cited as a promising way forward. …/…
