The Truth About Ultra-Processed Foods: A Crisis Engineered for Profit In 1964, the Surgeon General released a groundbreaking report linking cigarettes to lung cancer, marking the beginning of the end for Big Tobacco’s unchecked reign. But what many don’t realize is that when the tobacco industry faced regulation, they didn’t simply vanish—they pivoted. They turned their focus to the food industry, pouring resources into food science to engineer products designed to hijack our brains and our health. The result?
