The first panel under the Track - Frontier Farming BioTech Breakthroughs is AgBiologicals in Action: Scaling bio-based inputs for climate-smart cultivation moderated which was by Juzar Khorakiwala. India's agriculture sector accounts for 16-18% of the country's GDP but has cumulatively received less than $2B USD of VC/PE funding in the last decade. This is the lowest Funding/GDP of any sector in India. Aeravti Ventures has been working to change this, by supporting ventures crucially at the Seed stage where the concentration of capital is the lowest. The ecosystem has been evolving extensively and we now have a burgeoning Agri-tech sector that's poised for dramatic growth. Great to see ONO be on this list by Inc42 Media! Kudos to Rama. Super excited to share that Umagine / H2 Carbon Zero was declared as one of the top 5 winners of the Agritech Grand Challenge organized by Indigram Labs Foundation - TBI, Supported by DST, GoI as part of the Global Bio-India 2024 Roadshow. Ours was the only start-up focusing on solving for decarbonized clean power for agriculture. In spite of widespread electrification and solarization, diesel generators are still used rampantly for various use-cases within the agriculture sector. One of the alarming use-cases is in #aquaculture, which includes all kind of fish and prawn farming. The fumes generated from the diesel generators has a very negative impact on the life of the creatures. With the state of the art H2 Carbon Zero fuel cells, we are able to replace diesel generators in many farms, fisheries, and also to power #agriculture equipment. This in combination with the use of waste heat, the efficiency is very high and the economic case for replacement of diesel generators is bankable even today with #greenhydrogen. We are very happy for this recognition, and it means a lot for our journey. Many thanks to the esteemed panel of judges and the organizers for the same.
