❌Closing part II. The art of collaboration and partnerships has been demonstrated by the VAGABOND ITN network with Jan Molenaar as coordinator and Celina Szanto and Linda Schild as projectleaders at Prinses Máxima Centrum voor Kinderoncologie. With 15 toptalents from 10 countries around the world and with 18 partners from 8 different countries the network mobilises a wide range of knowledge. All training elements and research projects contribute to the pre-clinical drug development pipeline. With the BeyondU personal development program we participated in the network to guide top talents towards confident and resilient next-generation leaders in the 21st-century. Role models who live, work and lead with head and heart. The visual report by Elisabeth van der Spek visualizes how the consortium worked together. It also shares the impact how the personal development plan boosted the collaboration between teams and between sectors with a bottom-up approach. Governments often recognize outstanding individuals in various fields by awarding them medals as a token of appreciation for their remarkable contributions. These individuals, whether from industries or society, are acknowledged for their relentless dedication and efforts that have significantly advanced innovation and societal growth. However, while medals serve as prestigious honors, there's often a gap when it comes to providing substantial support to these high achievers to further their meaningful impact. It raises the question: is conferring a medal the extent of our recognition for top performers? Shouldn't there be more tangible efforts to facilitate their endeavors towards societal betterment? Despite their invaluable contributions, many of these individuals face hurdles in obtaining necessary resources and support to amplify their initiatives. Sponsoring their offices and expenses on state causes could not only empower them to continue their impactful work but also foster a culture of sustained innovation and progress. Ultimately, while medals symbolize appreciation, true support lies in actively backing the endeavors of these exceptional individuals. By investing in their projects and providing avenues for collaboration, governments can harness their potential for driving positive change and fostering sustainable growth in society.

In 2024, for the first time the SEGRA Foundation offers an Emerging Champions program. Held a day prior to the Summit, these Emerging Champions will work with Adam Mostogl to dive into conversations about contributing and making transformation change in the regions. Here is a bit more about five of them.... **Alysha Saunders: My motivation to work in the arts stems from a deep-seated interest in integrating the creative and cultural industries into regional planning, legislation, and policy. Essentially fixing a fundamental issue in how regions develop and are invested in. **Kellie Wilkins: If we have the ability and power to create something that prevents even one child from being disadvantaged, then why wouldn't we try? **Paige Zotti: I believe that by addressing economic disparities and promoting sustainable development, we can create environments where everyone has the chance to succeed and contribute to society. **Alyssa Mahar: By leveraging my skills and passion, I aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and the sustainable trajectory of businesses within the regions. **Louise Custance: From my own experiences, I want to offer community-oriented, cost-effective and authentic design solutions and places for regional communities across Australia while sharing more about the opportunities for built environment professionals beyond the city limits. #SEGRA #RRR #regional #emergingcampions
