Saved around 20 kgs of food and redistributed to the needy people. 60000 litres - 100000 litres of water was saved. When we waste food, we also waste all the energy and water it takes to grow, harvest, transport, and package it. And if food goes to the landfill and rots, it produces methane—a greenhouse gas even more potent than carbon dioxide. Last month, DXC Technology India joined hands with The/Nudge Institute to push forward our Economic Inclusion Program in Assam and Meghalaya. This collaboration brings focus to empowering rural communities, particularly women-led households that have historically faced high barriers to sustainable growth. In the recent NITI Aayog SDG Index, both Assam and Meghalaya are noted as aspirant states for SDG 2, with significant exclusion challenges in rural areas. Our work zeroes in on single mother-led households in Meghalaya and some of the most excluded communities in Assam, equipping them with resources to build resilience and a secure path forward. This partnership couldn’t come at a better time as we expand our efforts to reach people in hard-to-access regions. Big appreciation to DXC Technology India for walking this path with us—every step brings us closer to our vision of a resilient India for all. #ImpactfulPartnerships #resilientlivelihoodsforall

𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘢 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘳𝘢𝘬𝘺 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳. 𝘐𝘯 17 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘊𝘚𝘙 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴… Greened 1000s of hectares,🌱 Launched a green revolution, 🌳 Engaged an army of volunteers, Boosted agricultural yields and helped rural communities, Restored biodiversity across previously malnourished regions. This proves how corporate giants hold the resources and drive to activate waves of positive climate change. Fact: Mahindra Group’s Hariyali project has planted 24+ million trees to turn barren Indian lands into green powerhouses. It doesn’t necessarily have to be all doom and gloom. Just look at these numbers: - 19 native species to avoid the disturbances of mono-cropping - 3,275 families in Araku Valley won livelihood assistance - 26,000 tribal families benefit from this pro-environment initiative - 153 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions have been stored away underground - 3x rise in average income for Adivasi farmer households in Indian regions Besides positive societal change, the Haryali project has created a whole new segment of gourmet coffee. This has earned Araku Coffee international recognition. I plan to share more stories on how Wipro, ITC, HUL, Godrej, and TCS are riding the vessels of climate change in the coming weeks. Do comment YES if you’d like to hear these short stories. By the way, do you know of smaller companies doing their CSR duties? Let’s make environment-friendly side projects a norm! #climatechange #mahindra #greeninitiatives #CSRforClimate #SustainableDevelopment #EcoWarriors #GreenRevolution
