Yesterday marks my one-year anniversary in corporate. Here are ten things I am learning these days🤝 1. You mental Physical health is more important than anything. Zero tolerance for mental-physical harassment. 2. Never compromise your self-respect or your family for anything. 3. Corporate says, 'We are a family, but not. You are there to work, not make family. You could be replaced any time.So mind your own roles and responsibilities. 4. Don't play office politics. 5. Learn to say 'NO.'. 6. Improve your skills. 7. Work smart, not hard! 8. Never settled for less. 9. Know your value. If the place doesn't know or doesn't care about your value or effort, remember there are plenty of fish in the sea. 10. Don't trust any co-workers. They are your co-workers, not your friends. They use your words against you. Happy anniversary to me. Well done reshma, you deserve a tight hug 🫂

I never made a one-year anniversary post about my first job after college, and there’s a reason why. As I navigated starting my career, I also watched my parents finalize their divorce. I’ll keep the personal details off of LinkedIn, but here’s what the last year has taught me in work and beyond: • Empathy Matters: You never know what others are going through outside of work. A little kindness goes a long way. • Work as a Constant: On tough days, work may be the only constant. Sometimes, that consistency is a welcome anchor. • Embracing Change: Life and work can both present challenges. Whatever you do, adapt, pivot when necessary, and keep moving forward. So no, I never posted celebrating my one-year. I didn’t highlight achievements throughout the year, and I didn’t network with every person I met. I focused on myself, and I’d like to think I’m better for it. With that, here’s to year two and all that comes with it—hopefully, a little bit better than the last.

Today, I recognize one of my greatest career accomplishments: celebrating my 13th anniversary with my husband Robert Maloney. We actually met at work, but more significant is the time we have spent growing into leadership roles in different industries (he had a head start) during COVID, rapidly changing and uncertain workplace dynamics and evolving business structures -- while also raising a young family. When we do get quiet moments late at night, we commiserate over shared work challenges and celebrate each other's milestones. This has often reaffirmed our values that we hope to model for our children: - Pride in work. We don't take our responsibilities lightly or those of our teams'. - Humor. We might take our work seriously, but not ourselves and find the absurd in everything. - Mentorship. It shaped our own work ethic, and we wish we could find more space to guide our teams. - Resourcefulness. It's a lost art and why God invented Google. - Gratitude. We pause to remind ourselves of the privilege we've been given in our roles - even during moments of frustration. It's not been an easy road, and balance usually eludes us. We have different styles and approaches, but marriage -- like business partnerships - benefits from those who have complementary skills committed to a single mission and shared values. While this might all seem very unromantic, it's actually served us well in our personal and professional lives - and makes us appreciate each other more.

Beyond the years of Service We often pat ourselves on the back for sticking around a place for a long time. "Look at me, ten years here!" we boast. But let's be real: it's not just about the number of years you've clocked in. It's about what you've done with that time. Think of your career like a garden. Sure, you can brag about how long you've tended it, but the real beauty lies in the flowers you've grown, the challenges you've overcome, and the lessons you've learned along the way. Those are the things that truly matter. Every day at work is a chance to learn something new. You've probably faced some big challenges, celebrated some huge wins, and worked with all sorts of amazing people. That's the stuff that makes you who you are professionally. So, next time you're thinking about your work anniversary, don't just count the years. Take a moment to appreciate the incredible journey you've been on. And remember, the best way to celebrate is to share your knowledge and experiences with others. You never know who you might inspire. What do you think? Have you ever felt like your career was more about the journey than the destination? pls write to me your thoughts

Shaun and I celebrated our 20th anniversary recently. I know, I can’t quite believe it either. One of the things we did very early in our relationship was sit down and map out a life plan. This involved working out our core values and priorities as well as our short- and long-term goals, both as individuals and as a couple. They were categorised into six core areas, including work / career, health, relationships, and money. We looked at where we wanted to be in 20 years and what we needed to do to get there. Taking the time to sit down and work through our priorities and goals gave us a framework for the last 20 years of our life together. It set some ground rules for our relationship and helped us stay focused when times were hard. By setting priorities and some deadlines, we could better manage where we spend our time, energy, and attention. Our goals also helped keep us accountable, as we reviewed them at least every year, and often every quarter. And because we mostly wanted the same things, it made decision-making easier as we could evaluate options and choices based on our long-term goals and values. Twenty years on and we have achieved almost all that we set out to do all those years ago. Now it’s time for us to create our life plan for the next 20 years! Do you have a life plan? Or goals of any sort? What do they look like? I'd love to know. #goals #lifeplan #anniversary #celebration

Celebrating my 2-year Anniversary as a Business Owner To say that time flies is an understatement. September marks two years for me as a small business owner. I am deeply grateful for all of those who continue to help me on this journey, and the many clients who have trusted me to serve their needs. I am joyfully celebrating the career I designed that plays to my strengths and honors my values. Here are some of the valuable lessons I learned along the way… 1. Don’t take yourself too seriously – embrace humility. 2. When you have a bad day, lift someone else up. 3. Be an advocate for others. 4. Be willing to ask for help and offer to help others. 5. Your best laid plans will change – be ready to pivot and be resilient. 6. Your value is not measured by the hours worked but the impact you make. 7. Play is a connection to creativity. 8. Rest is an investment in your wellbeing. 9. Prioritize time to think, reflect, and dream – this unlocks energy, focus and productivity. 10. Take good care of your body – your life depends on it. Onwards to another year of personal and professional growth and a commitment to wellbeing, wisdom, and wonder!

Today, I am honored to be celebrating my 16-Year Work Anniversary with my company! That is a lifetime to some. It feels amazing. The people who I have met, and the things that I have learned on this journey have shaped my life in so many ways. Here are some of the lessons that I have learned over the years... * Work/life balance is crucial. It is important not to lose sight of what you are working for. Take the vacation. Go to the little-league game. Live a good life. It is short and you only get ONE. So, work to live, not the other way around. * Be kind and respectful and greet everyone. Every person in every position. * Give your respect freely but give your trust wisely. Guard your heart and your personal life. Be discreet. Know the difference between being friends and being friendly. Check your emotions. Don’t react quickly. Observe silently. Avoid office politics and gossip. * Show up. Be consistent and take action. * Be sincere, intentional and authentic. This goes for both your business and your personal life. * Don’t be afraid to ask people to share their wisdom and experience with you. Share your knowledge with others. * Know the difference between healthy competition and unhealthy “comparisonitis”. * Use the right tools, organize everything, and keep good notes. * Clear is Kind. Keep your communications clear, concise and easy to understand. * Confidence in your abilities and knowing your value is important to your success. Believe in yourself and in your work.

I love my mindset! The habit of celebrating every day as an anniversary of life's milestones, experiences, and achievements... This is a great way to appreciate the journey and find joy in the present moment. It's a wonderful attitude to have and I am living it out! By acknowledging and honoring each day's significance, you're: - Practicing gratitude for life's experiences - Recognizing personal growth and progress - Valuing relationships and connections - Embracing new opportunities and possibilities - Finding joy and positivity in everyday moments because you only live once! Adopting this mindset can help you stay: - present, - focused, and - appreciative of life's beauty. It's very important you keep celebrating those daily anniversaries and making the most out of each moment because most times we never get to see such opportunities again Remember, every experience, no matter how big or small, shapes who you are and prepares you for what's to come. Keep shining and making the most of your journey! Because it will definitely get better

𝗔 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗳-𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆: 𝗠𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 Today is my 1st anniversary working at POHA House! 💛 (how time flies!) Not only that, but last Friday marked 5 years since I left home in Mexico to embark in a new adventure that completely changed my life. My process has been fun, full of growth and learnings, at times hard, of course, its never easy to move 10,000km away from everything and everyone you know, and start from scratch. Its been a long way from that 2019 girl that started as a masters degree student in Hochschule Schmalkalden and honestly I would like to think young me would be proud of myself since I always said I would like to live in Berlin and have a job where I have fun (again, shoutout to POHA House! ✨). Having this in mind I thought I would share some of my top learnings from the last years: 1. Feeling scared it's not necessarily bad 😉 : when dealing with uncertainty, I always try to think its a chance for something awesome to happen, new doors that can open and the opportunity to prove myself. (If all fails, it will probably be a good story to tell!) 2. Be kind to others, but don't forget to be kinder to yourself: it can be very easy to put others above one self, especially when trying to make new friends and belong to a new group, however, it should never be so much you neglect your own health (mental & physical). 3. Take a moment to appreciate what you have achieved: don't get caught up in routines without taking a moment every now and then to enjoy the achievements, the city, the friends, the dreams come true. 4. Embrace the challenge 💪🏼 : when things get hard instead of letting it bring you down, take on the challenge and use it as motivation. You might be stronger than you imagine. 5. Enjoy the little things 🩷 (cheesy but true ) As of now, I could not imagine myself in any other place and I am so beyond thankful for everything I've learned and more importantly, the amazing people I've met! So here is for 5 years in Germany and one at POHA House ! 🥂
