Industry Insight: The importance of Frac-Out Control in Oil & Gas Projects In the ever-evolving landscape of the oil and gas industry, understanding and managing environmental risks is more crucial than ever. One significant aspect of this is frac-out control — a vital practice that ensures the integrity of operations while protecting our natural resources. What is Frac-Out? Frac-out occurs when fracturing fluids escape from the targeted geological formation during hydraulic fracturing operations. This can lead to unintended environmental impacts, including soil and water contamination. Implementing effective frac-out control measures is essential to mitigate these risks. Why Frac-Out Control Matters: 1. Environmental Protection: Ensuring that frac fluids remain contained helps prevent contamination of surrounding ecosystems, safeguarding water supplies and wildlife habitats. 2. Regulatory Compliance: Adhering to frac-out control protocols helps companies comply with environmental regulations, reducing the risk of fines and legal challenges. 3. Operational Efficiency: By proactively managing frac-out risks, companies can minimize disruptions during operations, leading to smoother project execution and cost savings. 4. Reputation Management: Demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship enhances a company’s reputation and builds trust with stakeholders, including local communities and investors. At Dakow Ventures, we are dedicated to advancing best practices in frac-out control to ensure that you project is not only efficient but also environmentally responsible. By prioritizing these measures, we contribute to a sustainable future for the industry and the communities we serve. Let’s work together to promote safe and responsible practices! #DakowVentures #FracOutControl #OilAndGas #EnvironmentalProtection #Sustainability #IndustryInsights #ResponsibleOperations

The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has released Bulletin 2024-15 OneStop Update: Remediation and Reclamation Submissions Now Linked to Asset "Currently, submissions in OneStop for environmental site assessments, records of site condition, and other remediation and reclamation applications for an oil and gas asset are linked to the operator’s business associate identification (BA ID) and not to an asset. Effective with the June 26, 2024, OneStop update, the following submission types will be linked to an asset in OneStop and not the BA ID: * phase 1 environmental site assessments * phase 2/3 environmental site assessments * records of site condition * reclamation certificate variances * reclamation certificate applications Following the change, when an asset is sold or transferred, the new operator can access submissions from the previous operator, saving time and money and reducing duplication of effort, preserving the history of site assessment, remediation, or reclamation work undertaken on the assets." You can find the full Bulletin with addtional contact information here: https://lnkd.in/gPdWFCRd #AER #AlbertaEnergyRegulator #Reclamation #SiteAssessments #ReclamationCertificates #RegulatoryCompliance #RegulatoryUpdate #Liability #OperationalLifeCycle #FacilityLifeCycle #sitecondition #FacilityRemediation #FacilityReclamation #OneStop #Alberta #EnvironmentalStewardship #Environment

💡 Did you know that geosteering offerings many environmental benefits as opposed to traditional drilling methods? "But.. how?" We're glad you asked. 🌎 We reduce your environmental footprint. Geosteering allows for more precise navigation of drilling paths which minimizes the need for extensive drilling and surface disturbance. This helps preserve natural habitats and ecosystems in sensitive areas. 🌏 Geosteering helps reduce the amount of drilling waste generated by accurately steering the drill bit toward target reservoirs. This decreases the risk of soil and water contamination. 🌍 With geosteering, operators will better target productive zones which maximizes oil and gas recovery while minimizing the need for additional drilling. Less drilling = less overall environmental disruption. 🌎 And finally, Impac's geosteering service provides you with constant and continuous monitoring to allow operators to quickly identify and mitigate potential risks, such as fluid loss or formation damage. We want to help you ensure responsible drilling practices. Give our team a call and let's work together to promote more environmentally friendly options in oil and gas drilling.
