A heartfelt thank you to our Slovak partner, Multimedic, for not only being the main sponsor of the event but also for their outstanding organization and support! 🙏 As part of the conference program, we shared insights of the CARL Therapy. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Benk´s lecture allowed us to dive deeper into the therapy’s practical applications, core concepts, and the device’s unique features. The discussions and questions from participants were truly inspiring and underscored the value of these professional exchanges. Thank you to everyone who contributed with active engagement and curiosity. Together, we’re shaping the future of patient care. 🫁🧠🫀 #ECMOConference #CARLTherapy #CARL #Collaboration #Multimedic #Resuscitation

I'm very appreciative for the opportunity to present the primary outcomes from our #ARIES-HM3 trial at the 18th European Mechanical Circulatory Support Summit in Hannover Germany his week. Results of #ARIES-HM3, a first-of-its-kind multi-national randomized controlled study - are truly groundbreaking. Outcomes clearly show that the avoidance of aspirin in newly implanted #HeartMate3 #LVAD patients reduces all non-surgical bleeding events by 34%, including a reduction in GI bleeding events by 39%. This translates to 14.5 bleeding events averted for every 100 patients implanted with the HeartMate 3 LVAD in the first year who avoided aspirin as part of their anti-thrombotic regimen, allowing them to spend less time in the hospital and more time living. The objective of the EUMS Conference is to facilitate the exchange in experiences, sharing of knowledge, networking, scientific discourse, questioning, and promoting collaborative efforts between cardiologists, intensivists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, VAD coordinators, nurses, engineers, and industry representatives. I'm thankful for time spent interacting with leading voices in the field of mechanical circulatory support. Next stop: Portorož, Slovenia for the 17th International Symposium on Innovations and New Treatment Strategies in Heart Failure! #EUMS #EUMS2024 #heartfailure #sloheart

Funny, but definitely some truth in this conversation… Better call IR! Interventional Radiology(IR) has become an invaluable partner if it comes to haemorrhage control. However, providing embolisation and other techniques that safe lives 24/7 is a challenge, even for maximum care, university hospitals. It’s time for hospital administrators and health care politics, especially in Germany, to recognise IR as an essential care provider (and consequently establishing service level requirements and necessary resources) #IR #DeGIR #DRG #CIRSE #Leistungsgruppen #Krankenhausreform

Last fall Infirmary Health surgeons, Dr. Kareem Bedeir and Dr. Peter Pluscht,III, collaborated with LifeNet Health for a webinar on the Ross procedure. The presenters discussed the evidence supporting the Ross procedure as the most favorable AVR modality in selected patients. The webinar also highlights the presenters' preferred surgical technique and touches on technical pitfalls. The discussion is followed by a question and answer session with the attendees. The webinar was recently published through CTSNet / Cardiothoracic Surgery Network. For those in healthcare, did you know that the very first "crash cart" was entered into the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History September 2, 2010? First designed back in 1965, wow how amazing. "MAX was originally designed and patented by Joel J. Nobel, M.D., while he was a surgical resident at Philadelphia's Pennsylvania Hospital in 1965, three years before he founded ECRI Institute. Nobel's invention was timely, as the United States was at the forefront of cardiology in the 20th century, a dynamic new medical specialty." "MAX helped enhance hospitals' efficiency in emergencies by enabling doctors and nurses to save time, thereby increasing the chances of saving a life. The cart and its supplies improved response time and minimized errors. MAX efficiently gathered together all the life-saving materials and brought these to the patient, allowing for quicker, better-executed treatment. These patient-centered qualities are now emphasized in today's rapidly changing healthcare system." https://lnkd.in/gbzvvs_Y
