Help us at Playful Mindset to create our Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy? We are a brand new charitable organization committed to disrupting adverse childhood experiences. We are equally committed to changing the lives of individual children and caregivers, AND changing systems that oppress. Organizations that so often start with a mission to "do good" end up doing harm, in explicit and implicit ways. I wholeheartedly believe in a changing world, that change is possible, and that organizations don't have to be what we are told they should be. That leaders have a responsibility to challenge, disrupt, dare to be different. I'm learning that this involves moving slowly, intentionally, making sure there's dialogue and reflection at every turn. Hustle only feeds toxicity, (well...and capitalism, and...so much more). We're in the beginning stages of creating a new policy. We have hopes to build in practices that reflect how we bring this very important policy to life in the day to day at a governance, operational, programmatic, and partnership level. We also hope to more fully explore how outdoor play itself integrates with principles of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. See our draft policy below, (thank you Shawna for the work you've done on this so far). We'd LOVE to hear from you. How are you committing to change? How are you living and breathing your own Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy? Where is the better than best practices that you've gone to for insight? Thank you for sharing. We truly have a kick-ass team here at eeva, with members of various backgrounds bringing their unique experiences to the table. We love bragging about our people, so over the next few weeks we'll be introducing you to team eeva! Of course, we have to start things off with the one and only Adrienne Jung, our super CEO, A.K.A. The Chief Chaos Coordinator STATUS UPDATE: Adrienne is currently top 0.4% of worldwide Candy Crush players! About Adrienne: I spent the last 15 years in various leadership roles in the non-profit sector. I builds kick-ass teams to do kick-ass things 🤩 I hold citizenships in 3 countries and speak 4 languages. I travel a lot and love expanding my horizons among different lands and cultures. I spend my free time walking my hilarious dog and I've been known to optimize spreadsheets and softwares for fun... What makes you super cool at eeva: I take play seriously and do serious playfully (case in point: my Candy Crush obsession). Something I’ve brought to eeva? I knew from the get go home management isn’t a sexy thing. So one of the first serious things I did was invest in the cheekiest and most playful branding — which has totally paid off. Also, my brain is always firing with good ideas, especially on the weekends when I’m supposed to be resting… see? I take play seriously, do serious playfully! What's your #1 challenge of being an adult?: I'm the worst at cooking. Cooking takes ages, plus factoring in dishes, for only a few minutes of eating! So I just don't cook at all. 😄 #ToastForDinner

Building sustainable relationships is the backbone of a successful business model. Here's an excellent behind-the-scenes look into a day in the life of a franchised new car dealership. #autodealers #buildingrelationships #sustainability #success
A Day in the Life of a Franchised New Car Dealer: Beyond the Showroom Running a franchised new car dealership is about much more than just selling cars. It's about supporting employees, fostering community relationships, and making a positive impact on the local area. Here’s a glimpse into a typical day in the life of a dedicated dealer who embodies these values. Employee Support Every morning in most dealerships begins with a team meeting, where employees are encouraged to share their ideas and feedback. Investing in their development through regular training sessions and providing a supportive work environment ensures a motivated and skilled workforce. Community Engagement The commitment to the community goes beyond business hours. Dealers are actively involved in local non-profit boards, using their expertise and resources to support various causes. From sponsoring local sports teams to providing scholarships, the dealership plays a pivotal role in the community's growth and development. Facility Support The dealership’s showroom and meeting facilities are frequently loaned out to local non-profits and organizations. Whether it's hosting a charity event, offering space for community meetings, or providing a venue for educational workshops, the dealership is a hub for local activities. Contrasting Direct Sales Models Unlike direct selling models like Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid, franchised dealers offer a personal touch that comes from being deeply embedded in the community. The local presence means immediate support for customers, ongoing community involvement, and a tangible commitment to social responsibility. Impact Through these efforts, the dealership doesn’t just sell cars; it builds lasting relationships and fosters a sense of community. This dedication to both employees and the local area sets franchised dealers apart, highlighting their indispensable role in the fabric of society. #SmallBusiness #automotive #CommunityEngagement #EmployeeSupport #AutomotiveIndustry #FranchiseDealership #LocalBusiness #NonProfitSupport #CommunityImpact #CustomerService #FranchiseVsDirectSales #SupportLocal #BusinessWithPurpose National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) North Texas Automobile Dealers

Success does not happen without help
There’s no such thing as being self made. Every successful person has had people help them. Whether it’s someone teaching them directly or watching a persons video on YouTube. Everyone has had help. I think we should take a moment to thank someone that’s helped us, whether they know it or not. And I want to thank David Lynch (林大卫) After 30 years in business I still know vey little compared to David. And without his Help, HelpBnk wouldn’t exist. So let’s all take a moment to thank someone today. Who are you grateful for? Thank them below 👇

I want to say Thank You! I’m still processing what Christina and I have done over the last six months. When we started planning this conference, we never imagined it would become what it is today. The conference spans over two days, nearly 100 CEUs, four tracks, 12 hours of content on each track for two days, and over 85 speakers. But the truth is, we didn’t set out to make something this big—it happened because people saw the need for change and wanted to be part of something that could actually fix the problems in our field. As many of you know, the ABA world has become increasingly divided. There’s been so much anger, fighting, and lawsuits. We’ve seen professors, researchers, clinical workers, and experts canceled and silenced. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s not what any of us want for our profession. The idea for this conference came from a simple desire: to build a space where different voices—different opinions—could come together to talk, to learn, and to collaborate for a better future. My daughter, who’s entering this field as an SLP and BCBA, deserves a future, like all young adults, where collaboration is the norm, not the exception. That’s why I decided to do this. But as we worked, more and more people joined in. People from all walks of ABA life, who might not agree on everything but who share the same hope—that we can stop the fighting, stop the canceling, and start building something better together. Last Friday, I received some unexpected news that gave me pause with the conference. It was a moment that led me to reflect on everything Christina and I have worked on over the past six months. As we approach October 11 and 12, I realize that no matter how things unfold, this conference has already proven something powerful: most of us in the ABA field are united in wanting the same thing. We’re ready to move past the conflicts, the divisions, and the silencing of people. We want an ABA community that values collaboration, where differences are met with discussion, not discord, and where we can find solutions to strengthen our field. This conference is more than just an event—it’s a movement. It represents the collective desire for something bigger and better in the ABA world. I’m incredibly proud of everyone who believed in this vision, who took a chance on this conference and us, and who stepped forward to be part of this change. Together, we’ve shown that we’re not just hoping for a more unified future—we’re actively creating it. Thank you!

Thank you very much for the kind messages of support and encouragement following my announcement yesterday. Last night, my kids told me that I look like Popeye's Grandad in my new LinkedIn banner, and that the only thing that was missing was a sailor's hat and a pipe. Ah, there is nothing like the emotional lift of a loving family to help you fulfil your goals!...I obviously need to do a lot of work on my branding before I start properly reaching out to clients in a couple of weeks. Anyway, those who know me know that I have always been very passionate about running businesses to grow them not 'manage' them. So many businesses accumulate bad habits over time, get bogged down in structural and systemic problems, or are so mired in the day-to-day management issues that they have become inefficient and so far off-strategy that it starts to hurt their business. ⛔ inadequate systems cause bottlenecks forcing teams to spend too much time doing things that they are not meant to do ⛔ important clients are not properly looked after ⛔ not enough attention is paid to cash flow ⛔ opportunities are missed because good people are spread too thinly and inexperienced people have to backfill ⛔ incentives are not aligned with the goals of the business ⛔ poor communication throughout the business just adds to the wastefulness and damages morale ⛔ the culture of the business fails to attract and retain the best talent. Most of the time, owners can see the symptoms of the problem when they are losing clients, losing good people, and are unable to innovate: but they can't see the cause. Owners of these businesses are in need of help. As a profit coach my job is to help them understand and appreciate why their businesses have come adrift and why they are only achieving sluggish results, and put a plan in place to achieve double digit growth within six months. I will be writing about these issues on a regular basis in posts, updates and newsletters; sharing tips, experiences and insights in my own unique style. Meanwhile, I'm off to the Lidl to find a tin of off-brand spinach and a liquorish pipe...I wonder if they have sailors hats in the 'Middle of Lidl ' aisle? Sean
