This morning's "Leave No State Behind - Getting Everyone Off the EE Plateau" plenary at Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's #2025MES was a bold, brave acknowledgement of what it takes to *equitably* align and measure against our efficiency, decarbonization, reliability, resilience, and affordability goals. Thank you, John Taylor (Consortium for Energy Efficiency ), Sandra Henry (Slipstream), Adam Cooper (Institute for Electric Innovation), and Carter Dedolph (CenterPoint Energy) for having an open, thoughtful dialogue about the complexity of our collective goals. Some nuggets: - Measure what matters (and be brave enough to redefine this!) - This requires systems thinking (and the system is a multidimensional market) - Stakeholder engagement is key (but with truly all stakeholders, which includes utilities and their regulators) - Win-win-wins are possible, even among this broad stakeholder group (and must be found) - Point-based definitions of success and measurement will keep us from the "big things" - Hanging our hat on the intersection of reliability and affordability will ensure we keep efficiency - One size will never fit all - local markets and constituencies will always require adjustment Thank you again to everyone who contributed to this session!

Power Up the Future!⚡️ The White House Climate Policy Office and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) of Energy co-hosted a summit on grid modernization today. The AES Corporation was thrilled to be part of this important event, focused on harnessing innovative tech solutions to expand capacity and make our electricity cleaner, affordable, and dependable. We were proud to be represented by Alexina Jackson, Vice President of Strategic Development at The AES Corporation. Alexina’s team is breaking down barriers in the energy industry! 💡🔌 “What an honor to have AES’ innovative and all together approach to grid technology highlighted at The White House today. We emphasized the urgency for scale deployment of technology like dynamic line rating and storage as transmission to benefit grid customers. Through strategic and stacked deployments of technology, AES will lead into the accelerated future of energy.", Alexina Jackson said after the meeting. Leveraging AI and machine learning, AES is powering strategic innovation to streamline the integration of renewable resources into the power grid. Our cutting-edge technologies can push more power through existing wiring when the conditions are right. Additionally, expanding our battery storage facilities, we will add flexibility to the grid, providing better reliability and adaptability to changing energy demands. Together, we’re building a more resilient grid that fuels a brighter future for all! 🌎 https://lnkd.in/edrG4EeK #Innovation #GridModernization #ClimateAction

We’re not going to meet the incredible demand for power by doing more of the same. We’re going to need innovative solutions to get around grid bottlenecks. AES has been focused on overcoming these bottlenecks by using Dynamic Line Rating and energy storage as transmission, aka 'Grid Boosters'. Great to see AES emphasizing the urgency of deployment of these technologies at the WH/DOE summit on grid modernization yesterday.
