🚛 Comparing energy consumption across Battery Electric, Fuel Cell, and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) trucks shows a definitive shift: Battery Electric Trucks: 848 kWh/800 km Fuel Cell Trucks: 2248 kWh/800 km Diesel ICE Trucks: 2792 kWh/800 km The numbers speak for themselves. 🟢 Battery electric technology achieves unmatched efficiency, leaving behind the inefficiencies of hydrogen and fossil fuels. While innovation in all areas matters, the gap is undeniable—why choose more energy-hungry alternatives when the simplest and cleanest solutions are already here? At Revive Batteries, we power this transition forward by promoting recycling and reuse in the Li-ion battery ecosystem, helping ensure that electric mobility remains circular, cost-efficient, and sustainable.

With the current technology, truck batteries are significantly heavier than the average truck. That means, fewer goods per load for every EV truck. End result – MORE trucks on the road! But, there is another way! If we allow the technology to catch up – we can support advanced bio fuels and renewable diesel which can run in trucks ALREADY ON THE ROAD – with no retrofitting! We can have the immediate environmental impact while we get the infrastructure and technology to where we need it to be for the future of EV Fleets!

This article is a great example of how we need to be thinking about the interim between now and whatever the future will be with EVs or hydrogen or whatever. We can't just wait for the ultimate solution to be developed when there are alternatives TODAY to make progress towards the goal. This article highlights the advantages of biofuel and renewable diesel but there is an off-the-shelf technology that gives the same benefits without any of the downsides of alternative fuels. That's what I do. Drop me a line if you want to make a difference this quarter rather than this quarter century.

🌍 Hydrogen vs. Electric Trucks: The Race for Sustainable Freight! 🚛🔋 The transportation industry is witnessing an exciting battle between hydrogen fuel cells and electric batteries as we explore the future of sustainable trucking. Both technologies hold significant potential, yet they each bring unique advantages and challenges to the table: ⚡ Electric Trucks: Great for short hauls and urban deliveries due to reliable charging infrastructure. Lower emissions with substantial efficiency gains, but limited range and long charging times remain hurdles for long-haul applications. 💧 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Trucks: Offer quick refueling times and longer ranges, making them ideal for heavy-duty and long-distance routes. Infrastructure is still in its infancy, with limited fueling stations available and high production costs. As battery technology improves and hydrogen infrastructure expands, these two power sources may complement each other to drive a greener and more efficient freight industry. Which technology do you think will win, or could we see a balanced, hybrid approach for future fleets? #SustainableTrucking #BatteryTech #HydrogenFuel #Amped

I found this to be a refreshing, open-minded, holistic perspective on our transportation industry - Enjoy!: "It’s not all electric, all gasoline, all diesel or all hydrogen; there is not a single best fuel. Both new and existing fuels have their pluses and minuses and places in the future. In their book Racing Toward Zero, scientists Kelly Senecal and Felix Leach peel back the many layers of the untold story of driving green. The authors’ suggestions and recommendations are prescient ones now more than ever. They argue that: (1) we must rethink emissions and move beyond the tailpipe, that zero emissions vehicles are not truly zero emissions; (2) there is no silver bullet and we must take an honest look at the pros and cons of each technology for each location and application, and use a mix of technologies going forward including battery electric vehicles, hydrogen, hybrids and internal combustion engine vehicles; (3) legislation and regulations should follow a technology neutral approach, with governments setting targets and engineers solving problems; and (4) to be wary of unintended consequences, and keep in mind consumer behavior." -Credit @Allen Schaeffer - Engine Technology Forum https://lnkd.in/g26w7eTJ https://lnkd.in/gq7fCU_K
