Rewilding Britain’s Post

It’s day six of #12DaysOfRewilding – today, we’re celebrating two very sweet additions to the world of rewilding.  Over at Wilder Blean, their herd of wild bison grew to eight this year, with the birth of two new calves.  Bison were introduced to Wilder Blean in 2022 by Kent Wildlife Trust and Wildwood Trust – and were the first project to use this nature-based solution to woodland management in Britain. Since then, the herd has thrived, shaping the habitat around them, boosting biodiversity and making it more resilient to climate change. Learn more about our rewilding highlights in our 2024 Rewilding Wins blog (🔗 link in comments). The difference between a bison and a buffalo - you can’t wash your hands in a buffalo. Sorry, Merry Christmas anyone in rewinding - you are doing fantastic job for wildlife and the planet.
