After a long stint of unemployment - a burden borne by many of us - it becomes strikingly evident that the odds are simply stacked against those with the greatest skills. Not only do recruiters lack the basic ability to understand what their employers need; there's a growing and palpable unease about hiring people demonstrably more talented and committed than peers obligingly messing things up inside the organisation. It's not you. It doesn't matter how you polish your portfolio, or ramp up your resume - there are forces at work against you that even Donald Trump couldn't overcome.

We have 15+ pending jobs from the last 48 hours. Most of which will likely open before the weekend. That’s not including additional openings. Many of these will be filled before posted as we know amazing talent we’ve previously interviewed who would fit. If you have political experience and have NOT interviewed with Republican Jobs, go to https://lnkd.in/g9U7aVAW. Even if there’s not an immediate fit, due to how fast our roles open and close, you may miss a role if you’re not already in our system. If you’ve interviewed with us, and we think you’re a fit, you’ll be hearing from our team. If you’re an employer looking to hire, and want access to privately searching talent, message us. If you’re waiting until June or July to hire (like previous cycles), you’re missing the best talent.

Reflecting on yesterday's election, I’ve been thinking about how similar the job search can feel to running a campaign. Much like candidates, job seekers have to work hard to present their strengths, communicate their values, and, often, overcome barriers to make a meaningful impression. It’s a process of resilience, strategy, and, at times, sheer tenacity. In this journey, we can draw inspiration from election outcomes: no matter the result, there's always another step, another plan, and another way forward. Sometimes, the key is to refocus, strategize, and stay true to our purpose, even when the path isn’t straightforward. For everyone navigating both job searches and the shifts we’re seeing around us, remember—persistence pays off. Stay prepared, stay positive, and keep pressing toward your goals. We’re all casting a vote of confidence in ourselves with each application and interview. #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #StayPersistent #ElectionReflections #Resilience #CareerJourney

You think this job market and the impact the pending election has on the job market is tough, imagine being a recruiter! I can't imagine the stress of being a recruiter in this job market, this political climate and to top it all off, its Q4, a historically slow time of the year. I appreciate all the effort many recruiters put into generating helpful and interesting content and keep plugging away unit things get better. If you have a recruiter that has been or is a great resource, give them a shout out here. Mine are: #harryjoiner #stacibenderepstein

Ghost Jobs—positions that stay posted but aren’t actively being filled—are causing confusion for job seekers. Employers may leave these up for future hiring needs, to gauge interest, or due to administrative delays. This trend highlights the need for transparency in hiring practices to support fair and efficient job searches. Learn more about this phenomenon here: https://lnkd.in/etyJhBy6
