This past week, we participated in the 1st Nairobi Health Scientific Conference, a platform that provided an incredible opportunity to highlight our work in strengthening primary healthcare and advancing reproductive health across Kenya through a panel. Key highlights from our panel discussions were our maternal health initiatives, sharing insights into our community-focused initiatives aimed at reducing maternal morbidity and mortality and the role our youth advocates play in driving change through grassroots engagement and leveraging social media for impactful outreach. We also talked about the Nena Na Binti Call Center, a reliable resource providing reproductive health information and referral services to communities and finally announcing our upcoming 8th RHNK Pan-African Scientific Conference on #AYSRHR that will bring together stakeholders to exchange knowledge and evidence-based practices for advancing reproductive health and rights. We are excited to continue collaborating with different stakeholders and sharing evidence-based strategies and solutions to build stronger, healthier communities. #NBOHSC2024 Nairobi City County

In crisis settings, people continue to have reproductive health needs, including access to family planning services. However, these needs are often underprioritized, and existing gaps in access and quality are exacerbated. Our new landscape analysis explores the role of social and behavior change in promoting informed and voluntary family planning use in fragile and humanitarian settings. It also provides recommendations to strengthen these efforts, ensuring reproductive health remains a priority, even in the most challenging contexts. Available in English and French. Exploring Reproductive Health among Rural Adolescents in Rwamagana, Rwanda: Insights into Knowledge and Service Utilization. A Study shedding light on adolescent reproductive health practices and access in rural Rwanda. This study looked at how well young people in Rwamagana District understand reproductive health and use related services. They surveyed 392 teenagers aged 15-19, randomly selected, using a questionnaire. Most of the teens knew about signs of maturity and 91.8% had good knowledge about reproductive health services. About two-thirds had used these services at health centers. The study found that teens living with parents were more likely to use reproductive health services compared to those living elsewhere. This highlights the need to make sure teens know about the services available to them at health centers. https://lnkd.in/g5534ASe #PublicHealthJournal #InternationalHealth #HealthIssues #HealthAdvocacy #HealthInnovation

Last Evening,I was privileged to Moderate a Webinar on How the National Reproductive Health Policy 2022-2032 ,protects Life and Promotes Family. This Webinar was critical,as it addressed some of the Pertinent issues that have been raised previously, concerning the policy. Two of the Key areas that have constantly sparked conversations include the Delivery of Reproductive Health services to Adolescents, as well as improvement of Maternal Healthcare in the Country. The Panelists were able to Highlight Key provisions in the policy that Have covered this two areas as well as other areas in the Policy. I must admit that the Policy document is Healthy in recommendations, and its Implimentation will improve the Access to Reproductive Health services in Kenya. Despite its richness however, Constant improvement of the policy is necessary, in order to address emerging issues in the Reproductive Health space. We have a responsibility to make it work! In recognition of World Population Day, check out my colleagues' creative answers on how we can improve the quality of life for the world's population! My answer would have been "End fossil fuel subsidies." What's yours?
