Standards in CP are vitally important. If there are none then any training process or delivery of operation are unfit for purpose. Unfortunately, that is the very situation of the industry on a global scale, the greatest impact of all being that any client does not know what they are getting. No.1 Parachute Training School has a motto of "Knowledge Dispels Fear" and I have carried this with me throughout my life. Where a situation may appear frightening, knowledge about an adversity, their strengths, their weaknesses, their MOs all help the planning, preparing and conduct of protective security operations - or indeed any activity where the environment would otherwise be prohibitive. Throughout my career within the private sector, I have tried to educate clients where possible. For the most part, I have found that taking such advice nd guidance is not only extremely satisfying but promotes effectiveness and efficiency to a far greater level than otherwise. Unfortunately, occasionally, a couple of prospective clients did not being swayed by budget limitation but also their personal wishes (party politics). Of course, it remains their prerogative and only time will tell if they were content with their end result or not - hopefully without any hostile incident.
