The long-awaited leadership race for Texas's historic District 18 has finally come to a conclusion, with Erica Lee Carter and Sylvester Turner emerging as the victors. Carter won the special election for the "Unexpired Term" to complete the final term of her late mother, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, while Turner won the District 18 "Full Term" to serve from January 3, 2025, to January 3, 2027. Despite initial concerns over the potential confusion caused by the double races, voters ensured that both candidates emerged victorious. According to preliminary results, Carter beat her opponent, Maria Dunn, with 69.3% of the early votes, while Turner beat his Republican opponent, Lana Centonze, 70.2% to 29.8%. Both victors expressed their eagerness to get to work and dive straight into what's next for District 18. Carter plans to begin working on her reparations commission effort letter and supporting the Democratic Caucus, while Turner aims to build upon the relationships he has already established with former US Speaker Nancy Pelosi, current House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Congressman Peter Aguila. Turner has laid out his priorities in terms of issues to tackle, including infrastructure improvements, affordable healthcare, affordable housing, and workforce training. With these victories, the two candidates are poised to continue the legacy of District 18's iconic leaders, including Barbara Jordan, Mickey Leland, Craig Washington, and Sheila Jackson Lee. What are your thoughts on the impact of these victories on District 18 and the broader political landscape in Texas? #district18 #texasleadershiprace #ericaleecarter #sylvesterturner #victoriousleaders

Impressive. There’s also a cascading affect into industry. CXOs should be cognizant. The purée blending of sexes in the workplace and workforce has implications to healthcare, inter-employee relations, company branding, the daily bathroom, performance evaluations, the broad scope of HR and legal, and the overall working environment. Knowing by whom and how this broader issue is being handled in your jurisdiction is important.

New Blog - To Win You Have to Risk Losing A fourth quarter comeback won’t happen if a team looks at the odds. There are no medical miracles if the doctors or the patient play the odds. The miraculous. The improbable. The heroic. None of those happens if people always make decisions based on what is most likely to happen. If everyone played the odds, everyone would quit too early. What were the odds of Abraham Lincoln winning a presidential election after losing eight previous elections to other offices? What were the odds of the college kids of the 1980 United States Olympic Hockey team defeating the professional hockey players of the USSR? If you played the odds on these two events, Lincoln would not have run, and those college hockey players would not have even played the game.
