If you want your content to go viral on social media there’s a few things you should be doing: 1. Make your content shareable - this the cardinal rule when it comes to social media growth. the algorithm will boost posts that get lots of shares. the more shares, the more natural reach, the more the algorithm favors you. 2. Make your content saveable - this goes hand in hand with shareable, but the more people save your posts, the more the algorithm will boost & favor you content. 3. Trending audio - using trending audio is key for viral posts. I like to search for audio that has >1,000 videos. sub 500 is golden. (if you don’t quite understand this, no sweat. Content first then build a product. This isn't a one-size-fits-all assertion, but I believe there's a missed opportunity if you build a product first. Sharing content about topics you care about consistently on platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok can give you leverage to create subject matter expertise over time. This will organically build an audience that knows, likes, and trusts you. An engaged audience will eventually share ideas they believe you can execute and or be the first to provide feedback on your ideas. Social media is an avenue for obtaining feedback and insights at a cheaper rate than building a product/service first. What are your thoughts? What is your perspective? You are giving away your time and effort for FREE by sharing other people's content. More importantly, you're not allowing your audience to learn about and get to know YOU. We also know that it's getting harder to achieve wide-spread organic reach on social media. Why use that limited reach to share someone else's content with your audience? Use quotes and content from others as inspiration to share your perspective. Allow the audience you're able to reach via social media the opportunity to get to know you. Leverage content to your advantage or better yet, focus on creating original content that speaks to your audience. If you do decide to share other people's content, have a clear understanding of why you're doing so. Add reasoning to your content strategy. Look at the data and learn whether these content shares are supporting your business goals. Save space for your unique voice....better yet, prioritize it. It is actually a joke when social media strategists say that you need to post atleast three times a day on social media for your content to reach your audience. No matter how many times you post, if there is nothing in your content that is of value to another person then you or your business is not going to benefit in any way. If you spend your time creating quality content 3 times a day, or invest money in a content creator to produce your content, you are not going to be creating anything of value or something that is truly unique. Posting content on social media is not actually business, it is just a form of entertainment for your audience. Now, personally, I was thinking it’d be a great idea to show followers as well, cos then you can tell straightaway if your audience like the post or not, but I guess most of us don’t really have larger percentage of our target audience following us yet, and besides, it’d be a great way to gain new followers. Also, if non-followers engage with it, your followers are more likely to when they finally get to see it. so, I guess this is Instagram’s way of helping accounts gain followers organically or increase their engagement and make sure they’re putting out the right content. Good for them. Few things to note are: 1. Only you will be able to see that your reel is a trial. 2. Your trial reel will appear in your profile’s Reels grid, but not on your main grid unless you later decide to share it with everyone. 3. Some followers may still see your reel in other places. For example, someone might share your reel with them in a direct message, or they may see your reel in Instagram’s Reels tab, yada yada. . . Do you have this feature? What do you think about it? A lot of business owners do not know their target audience at all, and end up throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what fits. If you know your audience then you are halfway there. Create engaging content that adds value to their lives, showcases your brand personality, and encourages interaction. Consistently post relevant content, engage with your audience, and analyse metrics to refine your strategy over time.
