The Yeppoon Road Upgrade project has reached its halfway point, marking significant progress in enhancing safety and connectivity for Central Queensland residents. Construction began in June 2023 and is being delivered by CMC. Key deliverables include: ▪️ Road Widening: Expansion of lanes to accommodate increased traffic flow. ▪️ Intersection Upgrades: Enhancements to key intersections to improve safety and efficiency. ▪️ Safety Features: Installation of barriers and signage to reduce accident risks. Build up the NHC technical capacity to take on the responsibilities of building and construction of new houses and infrastructure and stop tendering projects to Contractors at an inflated amount. Yesterday I visited the HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd Chilterns South Portal site. Two extraordinary infrastructure projects, ongoing, onsite - the twin bore tunnel through the Chiltern Hills and the Colne Valley viaduct - alongside the considerable and exciting Chalk Grassland project. The largest schemes, such as HS2, offer the opportunity to experiment and investigate so that smaller schemes, and all of us in fact, can benefit.

KMSB - Kimberley Marine Support Base launches advanced floating wharf for Port Of Broome KMSB is developing a state-of-the-art marine facility tailored to Broome's unique environment and significant tidal variations. The new port infrastructure at the ort of Broome will feature a floating wharf, designed by OSK Design, connected to a fixed causeway. This design enables safe and efficient 24/7 operations, regardless of tide levels. The design and location of the KMSB facility have been meticulously planned to address the interests and concerns of various Broome stakeholders. Following extensive consultations, KMSB has optimized the design to eliminate the need for dredging and minimize the total area of seabed disturbance. By combining modern marine infrastructure with a contemporary operating model, KMSB aims to deliver advanced solutions that reduce costs and carbon emissions while enhancing efficiency across a wide range of activities. The floating wharf “Kimberly Link” was launched yesterday (15th January) from Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment (ROC).
