The Aston Martin Valkyrie just flexed its muscles at Silverstone, smashing the production car lap record by more than 10 seconds with a blazing time of 1:56.42. That makes it the first production car to complete the 3.661-mile circuit in under two minutes—fitting for a hypercar developed with Red Bull Racing tech and packing a 1,160-hp hybrid powertrain. Piloted by Le Mans legend Darren Turner, the $3 million Valkyrie outpaced the previous record holder, a tuned Porsche 911 GT2 RS, by a massive margin. Sure, it’s still a half-minute behind Max Verstappen’s F1 lap, but for a street-legal car, it’s basically lapping the competition. #robbreport #luxury #astonmartin #automotive #cars

1967 Ford GT40 MK IV❤💪 Read the story ⬇ The fourth of only seven continuation Mk IV GT40s A faithful recreation of one of the most important American cars ever built, with assistance from Carroll Shelby, Dan Gurney, Phil Remington, and Edsel Ford II 500 bhp, 427 cu. in. V-8 engine with dual four-barrel Holley carburetors, model T-44 four-speed manual transaxle, front and rear independent suspension with coil springs and shock absorbers, and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. Wheelbase: 95 in. Perhaps the most significant post-war American race car ever produced was Ford’s Mk IV GT40, and it is nothing short of a racing legend. It was the ultimate development of the GT40 platform, and it took the fight straight to Ferrari, dominating a field that included the Ferrari 330 PF and the Chaparral 2F, as well as its predecessors, the GT40 Mk I and Mk IIB. As history would reveal, the Mk IV would only be campaigned in two races, at the 1967 12 Hours of Sebring, where Mario Andretti and Bruce McLaren piloted a Mk IV to victory, and at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt outperformed all to the checkered flag and won the Index of Performance for the most efficient car. That victory is the only all-American outright win of an American-built chassis, engine, team, and drivers at the fabled Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. Due to the Mk IV’s unparalleled performance, the FIA quickly relegated the Mk IV to racing extinction by outlawing any prototype car that had larger than three-liter motors. As only 12 original chassis were built, with 10 surviving, the existing original Mk IV GT40s are prized possessions of their caretakers. They seldom change hands and are rarely seen or heard in action. Such is the case with the most desirable cars in the world, as there are not enough original examples available for purchase by enthusiasts. #fordgt40 #musclecar #american #cars #Anis_Maaouia

Furious performance - the Dauer 962 LM! Dauer Sportswagen (formerly Dauer Racing) built 2 racing chassis, which were GT002 & GT003 used in competition. However, a third chassis was made available at Le Mans if necessary, GT001. The car in the photo. Although it never raced, it was actually the prototype racing car, built from the Porsche 962-169 chassis. The Dauer 962 LM is powered by a 3.0L Twin Turbo Flat-6 making 720 hp. This power is then routed to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. The weight came in at 2300lbs (1080kg). That was good for a 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and an independent measurement of 155 mph in 1998. In 1994, the Dauer 962 LM managed to achieve a victory at Le Mans. Until now, the Porsche 962 was beginning to decline in competitiveness. With so much change happening so quickly in Group C, the old boys just didn't have it in them to keep up. However, in 1993, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest or ACO accidentally created a loophole in their new homologation requirements. They didn't specify how many route examples were needed to run. Given the fact that Dauer had already converted a road-going version of the Porsche 962, Porsche found a way to return to competition with this Dauer 962. Dauer showed up at Le Mans with Porsche in support the following year and outperformed the field to win Le Mans. A total of 14 examples were built between the racing cars, converted road cars and prototype. #dauer #962lm #supercar #lemans #performance #speed #germany 🇩🇪 #Anis_Maaouia

What is the fastest Formula 1 car of all time? The 2024 cars use some of the most advanced technology and testing equipment to be the quickest on track – but contrary to popular belief, the 2024 cars are not the fastest of all time. The 2018-2021 era delivered the fastest F1 cars yet, with new regulations introduced to increase speed and make racing more exciting. During this time, the Mercedes W11 set the record for the fastest average lap at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix, hitting 164.267mph. However, it was in 2005 that the highest top speed was ever officially recorded at a race weekend. The McLaren MP4-20 hit 231.52mph at the Monza Grand Prix. Aerodynamics have come a long way in Formula 1, and with our advanced aerodynamic pressure scanners, we’re helping teams achieve even faster speeds for the seasons ahead.
