Bridge building with different materials and methods is a scientific progress. The origin of traffic. {Unnecessary trips} should be eliminated by providing per capita infrastructure, facilities and services in urban areas. As soon as we add metro and bus to the city's freight fleet. We cannot be responsible for unnecessary trips in cities. On the other hand, the movement of people is against the rules of urban planning in the world.

Much needed investment by the NSW government! But, $220M for an 100 metre or less bridge? Someone need to review the QS... oh wait, that will increase the overall project cost by another few millions. PS: A $220M build = 300-500 apartments or 150-300 houses.
The Epping Bridge Project concept design and Review of Environmental Factors are now available for public display. This $220 million initiative aims to replace the 124-year-old Epping Bridge with a new, wider, and safer structure. The project will address congestion and traffic delays by adding an additional westbound lane and a southbound right turn lane into Blaxland Road, improving road capacity for the 63,000 vehicles crossing daily. The upgrade includes: 🚶 Road and pedestrian safety enhancements such as a new shared path for walking and cycling 🛣️ A raised central median 🚧 Bridge safety screens 🚦 Improved pedestrian crossings and traffic signals at key intersections 🚗 Additional improvements will also be made to surrounding roads. We invite you to provide your feedback on the Epping Bridge Project by Monday 7 October 2024. community drop-in sessions will be held for further engagement. This photo was taken in 1919, most people and Torontoni know this area very well as you drive on Don Valley Parkway (DVP) these day. You can see how wide was the Don River and extended land surrounding the river and in background you can see the Bloor viaducts bridge under construction. The first two arches were converted to DVP highway and we drives underneath everyday as you head south or North from/To Toronto. This is one one of reasons we as humans were messing up with nature. We converted rivers and shore lines to accommodate infrastructure that shouldn’t be there in first place. That one of reason we reduced Don river to a thin strip that overflow water due to heavy rain no where to go. City planning should encourage integration with nature environment and not destroying it. It is time for more public transportation and smart integration with environment.

This innovative design could significantly enhance traffic flow efficiency and reduce commute times. Additionally, it might lower fuel consumption and emissions by minimizing idle times at intersections. It will be interesting to see how this concept integrates with autonomous vehicle technology for even greater optimization.
