Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency's Continous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program Manager, Matt House, updated the public on how his program is aiding federal agencies to develop and implement zero trust cybersecurity systems. Regarding their potential partnerships with the private sector in order to further these efforts, he added: "We have a team that we work with internally that is focused very much as a primary responsibility on working with industry, kind of pulsing the marketplace, doing a lot of market research, doing a lot of evaluation and research and development." As technology evolves and new cybersecurity meassures become necessary, it's good to see that the federal government is constantly upgrading their capabilities. Spending on Federal #cybersecurity programs is a lever that can both increase the security of government networks and shape the broader marketplace, since companies will build capabilities to sell to the sizeable Federal market that others in both the public and private sectors opt to buy as well. The power of procurement is an often-overlooked way that government spending priorities shape our collective cybersecurity landscape-- one need look no further than the way #zerotrust implementation accelerated after it became a USG-wide priority in 2021.
