When Inotropic & Pressor medications are used to treat HYPOTENSION, they are titrated based on blood pressure response to keep either: •Systolic blood pressure−SBP ≥90mmHg •Mean arterial pressure−MAP ≥65mmHg Many prefer following the MAP over the SBP, as WE SPEND MOST OF OUR LIVES IN DIASTOLE (diastole being nearly 2/3rds of the cardiac cycle). As a result, our organs spend more time being perfused during diastole than systole. Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is a congenital heart defect with four key features: a ventricular septal defect (hole between the heart's lower chambers), pulmonary stenosis (narrowing of the pulmonary valve), right ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of the right ventricle's muscle), and an overriding aorta (the aorta is positioned above the septal defect).
