I am creating an online Youtube course, entitled "History of Architecture Briefly Told" This course is designed for anyone who wants a quick and engaging overview of the major architectural eras, perfect for brushing up before an exam, midterm or final. Whether you're an architecture student cramming for a history test or simply someone curious about the evolution of buildings, this course will take you on a journey through time, exploring the world of architecture.

We are happy to announce the newest addition to the editorial team of the Design Research in Architecture series, Professor Andong Lu. Currently Professor in Architecture and Urbanism at Nanjing University, China, he joins Professor Murray Fraser from UCL's renowned Bartlett school of Architecture. Featuring work from Early Career Researchers and leading architect-scholars in practice and academia, books in the open access Design Research in Architecture series vary widely in tone and structure, covering aspects such as design method, visual representation, reasoned critique, social processes and strategies for action. The series is deliberately inclusive to encourage a vibrant, novel approach, and is openly international. Each book combines serious historical or theoretical research with creative propositions expressed through drawings, models or texts; indeed, it is the symbiotic interplay between these components that forms the basis for design research in architecture. There is no way to show the value or a symbol of an important case in our life and give it endless dimensions better than architecture. This reality makes me stop and think to understand why the humanity do this since earliest civilizations till now. May be it is only a tradition or there is no better way. Every time I present such buildings in lectures of History of Architecture I stop and cannot answer.

What insights can an architecture, landscapes, and urbanism researcher learn from DIT? 🤔 Marida Borrello answers this question in our recent blog, and the answer is - among other things - that there is no reason to fear venturing outside of your normal discipline, because it only enriches your original discipline: "I see how di-verting from the discipline is fundamental to believe in your discipline and make it useful for society, as this is fundamental to be able to talk and communicate in other ways" she says. Excited to share my Bachelor's Thesis, "Decarbonizing Architecture," with which I completed my degree in Architecture at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) . I am deeply grateful to my professors, classmates, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey, especially Fabian López , the tutor of this thesis. The goal of my thesis is to explore the energy rehabilitation of a block of flats using the Building Renovation Passport as a guiding tool. 17TH ANNUAL WORKSHOP OF LATVIAN SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE TO PREPARE PROPOSALS FOR UKRANIAN URBAN AREAS DEVASTATED BY WAR The workshop was held from 19th to 23rd of September 2022 in which students from top Universities of 6 different countries (India, Germany, Hong Kong, France, Latvia, Ukraine) participated. The theme of this year’s workshop was "RENEWAL OF URBAN ENVIRONMENT IN UKRAINE". WORKSHOP OF LATVIAN SCHOOLS OF ARCHITECTURE is an annual students event aimed to simulate working conditions close to real. The basic idea is to organize creative process with involvement of different architectural sub-specialities necessary to insure full scope of activities within the process of solving the task set by the organizers. The final product has to be delivered within a week time. No deadline prolongations are accepted. All the communication among the parties is done on-line. As part of the Upper Yarra Local Development Strategy, a working group led by community members have been looking at derelict buildings in the Upper Yarra, and considering ways to make them of use to community again. As part of their architecture coursework, RMIT University's School of Architecture and a group of undergraduate students have been assisting the working group by providing possible ideas on how these sites could be transformed. While the ideas are purely conceptual and are not formally part of the project, they are helping inspire the members of the working group to visualise what may be possible. Folios and cardboard models have been created by the students to showcase some of these conceptual ideas, which can be viewed at the Arts Centre Warburton until 19 December.
