🔹 This Week’s Focus: Lost Circulation! 🔹 Lost circulation is a major challenge in drilling, where drilling fluid is lost downhole into fractures or caverns, disrupting the return flow and primary well barrier, creating costly delays. We’re tackling this head-on by using our core carbonate consolidation glass technology from Vitri-Reinforce, specifically for curing lost circulation. How does it work? We mix traditional lost circulation material (LCM) with our dissolvable glass, creating a reactive slurry that forms quick-setting rock directly in the loss zones. Here’s why Vitri-Patch is a game-changer in the field: ✨ High-Impact Properties of Vitri-Patch LCM Solution: Rapid Set-Up: Initially acidic when mixed, Vitri-Patch solidifies within minutes on contact with carbonate rock downhole — ideal for sealing highly fractured and cavernous carbonates. Dynamic Flexibility: The solution stays fluid at lower temperatures and in higher dynamic conditions, minimizing the risk of blockage in the drill pipe or BHA. Once the fluid pH raises, temperature increases, or the fluid slows, the Vitri-Patch begins to set. Expansion and Thixotropy: CO₂ gas is generated during the reaction, creating an expanding, thixotropic slurry to fill large voids and fractures in major loss zones.
