Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check in on us and most importantly to the firefighters and emergency responders who are working tirelessly to protect our communities. Update: our Ronald McDonald House Pasadena and Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House , along with our families and staff, remain safe from the fires but are located very close to them. The dangerous air quality is a serious concern as we prioritize the safety of those staying in our Houses. To safeguard our immunocompromised children, their families, and our staff from the hazardous air, we are asking for N95 masks and HEPA air purifiers. For those who have reached out asking how to support our Houses, please find donation details in the slides attached. Thank you. ❤️ #eatonfire #palisadesfire #sunsetfire

In light of ongoing far-right violence in the UK, I think it’s important to reaffirm Airbox’s support for our emergency services and also stand up for our values around kindness and humanity. Despite the recent disorder, we should be reminded of the strengths of our communities. Acts such as these highlight the importance of kindness, unity, and cooperation. At Airbox, I’ve always tried to ensure that these values, in particular, are at the front of our decision-making. The decision to always be kind is one of the most important that any of us can make. It’s easy to recognise why it is important when it is your own family, and I believe that all of humanity is one family. Also at the core of our mission is a commitment to support those who dedicate their lives to helping others. We see time and time again the crucial role our emergency services play in maintaining public safety and wellbeing. We recognise the risks which they take, often unwitnessed, to protect people they usually don’t know. Their bravery, professionalism, and dedication to duty have always inspired me. In this moment, we also stand in support of the victims, their families and friends, and the communities affected by this unrest. Airbox will continue to champion empathy, cooperation, and resilience. Because it’s important always to put actions against our words, we will be making a donation both to an Emergency Services Charity and to the Red Cross.

If you're part of a family with young children, this FREE workshop is for you! 🚼 Join us next Thursday to build your own air cleaner in West Kelowna! Help us spread this precious opportunity! 🔊 This DIY Air Cleaner Workshops series is teaching pregnant women, seniors, and families with young children to be ready in response to wildfire smoke. Created in partnership with the City of West Kelowna, Interior Health, and Simon Fraser University, the workshop also highlights information on emergency preparedness. Air cleaners can be a significant benefit in reducing exposure to fine particulars from wildfire smoke, and research shows that the 'do it yourself' version is equally effective as a commercial air cleaner. • Families with young children: Thursday, August 15, 10 am-12 pm. Happy Halloween! 🎃 It’s a common dilemma — what to do with leftover candy? You want it... but you want not to want it. Your kids or the neighbors’ kids probably want it, but do they really need *all* of their Halloween spoils? Aha, you could take some candy to work! Your co-workers will want it! (Or will they... having their own candy surplus at home and goals to stop eating it?) All common thoughts and questions.... Please, for the love of all that’s spooky and fun, do not decide that your leftover candy “can’t go to waste.” Some ideas: 1. Eat a few pieces of candy, and donate the rest to U.S. troops. (A small thanks for all that they do!! 🤗 ) 2. Eat a few pieces of your favorite candy. Throw the rest away. 3. Store some candy for your kids to make holiday gingerbread houses. Throw the rest away. 4. Just throw the candy away. Happy Halloween! 🦇 🎃 🧛♀️ https://lnkd.in/gSMsXNR9 #nutrition #healthyliving #halloweencandy #treatsfortroops

Every Road Victim Counts, highlights the devastating and lifelong impact that road crashes have on victims and their families and the importance of access to effective and personal support. “𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝟮.𝟱 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭 𝘁𝗼 𝟯 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿.”—𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗥. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿. Access to safe drinking water is a basic human right, yet over 2.5 billion people worldwide are deprived of this essential resource. This lack of clean water and proper sanitation leads to devastating consequences, with an estimated 1 to 3 million deaths annually. Our mission is clear: to provide safe drinking water to the next generation and beyond. With only 21% of our goal reached, we’ve raised £255 out of the £1200 needed to construct a safe drinking water facility for our children. Every contribution counts, and together, we can make a life-saving difference.https://https://lnkd.in/dB5zGFB9 We invite you to join this righteous cause and help us achieve our goal. Your support—whether through donations, sharing our campaign, or simply spreading the word—can change countless lives. This effort began with hope on Friday, and with your help, it can end with success. The link is in the bio, and every pound brings us closer to securing a brighter, healthier future for communities in need. Let’s stand together to ensure no child goes without safe drinking water.
