Fun Fact: That Time Google Forgot to Renew Its Domain! Did you know? Back in 2015, the unthinkable happened—Google's domain wasn't renewed on time, and someone actually managed to snag it for just $12! 😲 Luckily, the situation was quickly rectified, but it gives us a valuable lesson. This little mishap serves as a quirky reminder of the critical importance of managing your digital assets. Knowing when your domain expires and ensuring timely renewals can save you from potential headaches (or from losing your digital home temporarily!). So, here's a pro tip: Set up automatic renewals if possible, and always keep your registration details up to date. You definitely don't want your domain going on a little unplanned adventure, do you? Stay vigilant and keep your digital properties secure! #TechTips #DomainManagement #DigitalAssets #GoogleFunFacts

Google: You Can Recover From Helpful Content Damage With The Next Core Update Google has once again stated that you can recover from the damage suffered on your site with the September 2023 helpful content update and the next core upgrade. According to Danny Sullivan, the Google Search Liaison, "Yes, people who have had impacts with core ranking updates may see changes (if our systems believe they've improved) after the next broad one we have." He did, however, add: "I don't have a timetable to share, but we do them several times per year." https://lnkd.in/ed4dKtHJ

The site received 140,000 bot clicks from Google overnight in early July. The result? Their ranking dropped to position #5 the next day. Another spike in clicks and the result? position #35 on Google. Recovery? Well, that's complicated and takes a day to destroy a page, but takes weeks/months to recover the page. https://lnkd.in/dB4gYKPS

Given the latest Google update, my advice is to adopt a wait-and-see approach rather than making immediate, reactionary changes. A sudden reversal in your website's performance, similar to what we've observed with this update, wouldn't have been mitigated by actions like changing domains, altering page URLs, or attempting a site relocation. It's crucial to allow the March 2024 Google Core update to fully roll out before assessing its impacts and deciding on the most appropriate course of action. Acting prematurely could lead to unnecessary adjustments that may not align with the final effects of the update.

Google's November 2024 Core Update is rolling out now❕ What changes does it entail for the digital landscape❓ Well, like most Google Updates - this, too will be better understood once the rolling out completes over the next few weeks. What we know for sure: ✔️ This is yet another effort by the search engine to prioritise useful content over content created purely for rankings: it is becoming more and more prevalent, Google will favour those create cutomer-first content. ✔️ There's no recovery for HCU victim sites, infact some have reported a further drop in their rankings. Although, no major movements have been reported yet by a vast majority. As Google has made it obvious, the only way forward is to produce content that genuinely aims to answer customer queries. Google's measures around helpful content will continue to tighten. #googlecoreupdate #googleupdatenovember2024 #makretingaustralia #digitalmarketingsydney
