Given the latest Google update, my advice is to adopt a wait-and-see approach rather than making immediate, reactionary changes. A sudden reversal in your website's performance, similar to what we've observed with this update, wouldn't have been mitigated by actions like changing domains, altering page URLs, or attempting a site relocation. It's crucial to allow the March 2024 Google Core update to fully roll out before assessing its impacts and deciding on the most appropriate course of action. Acting prematurely could lead to unnecessary adjustments that may not align with the final effects of the update.

Google’s March updates in a nutshell ⚠️👇 At the beginning of March, Google released its latest core and spam updates. Together, these aim to reduce low-quality content and combat manipulative practices such as: - content abuse - site repetition abuse - expired domain abuse These updates also include algorithm changes to improve search result quality and reduce unoriginal content by as much as 40%. As you would expect from an update of this scale, a lot of sites are experiencing significant fluctuations in ranking. Some positive, some not so great. So, what should you do if your site has dropped as a result of these changes? 🤔 According to Google, nothing. These updates are still rolling out, and turbulence is to be expected. The best businesses can do is wait until they complete before implementing any changes.

Where would we be without Google!! Google boasts the largest website index in the world with over three billion sites. Despite the magnitude of its website index, Google can sift through the index in less than a second. So what are you going to Google today? #google #googlecommenorationday #googleday

Google Core Update Expected In The Coming Weeks Danny Sullivan, the Google Search Liaison, said that he expects the next core update will be rolling out in the coming weeks. He said it is hard to predict because these updates are not scheduled to a particular day but rather tested and then once approved are launched. 🔔 IMPORTANT UPDATE 🔔 Say goodbye to Google's URL shortener service! 🚫 Starting August 25, 2025, billions of redirected URLs will stop working. Google's service, launched in 2009, will cease to exist after disrupting the interstitial page notice process starting August 23, 2024. 🔍 What to expect: Users clicking on redirected URLs will see a notice before links become obsolete, resulting in a 404 error. To avoid disruptions, transition affected links promptly! 🚨 Brace for impact! With billions of goo.gl links scattered across the web, it's crucial to update your redirects before they vanish. Time to make the switch before it's too late! #URLShortener #GoogleUpdate 🌐 Let's stay ahead of the game and ensure smooth transitions for our online presence. Ed Zitron on the decline of Google https://lnkd.in/gCTF2eCa 1/2 My own view is that the decline began much earlier, but is has accelerated drastically thanks to people like Raghavan. And Google's long standing monopoly is facing legal challenges just as the set of potential competitors (rival search engines as well as LLMs) is expanding 2/2

Google's November 2024 Core Update is rolling out now❕ What changes does it entail for the digital landscape❓ Well, like most Google Updates - this, too will be better understood once the rolling out completes over the next few weeks. What we know for sure: ✔️ This is yet another effort by the search engine to prioritise useful content over content created purely for rankings: it is becoming more and more prevalent, Google will favour those create cutomer-first content. ✔️ There's no recovery for HCU victim sites, infact some have reported a further drop in their rankings. Although, no major movements have been reported yet by a vast majority. As Google has made it obvious, the only way forward is to produce content that genuinely aims to answer customer queries. Google's measures around helpful content will continue to tighten. #googlecoreupdate #googleupdatenovember2024 #makretingaustralia #digitalmarketingsydney

🚨 Latest Google Announcement! 🚨 Google has announced that its URL shortening service, goo.gl, will be completely discontinued by August 25, 2025. This means that all existing goo.gl links will stop working and will return a 404 error from that date onwards. The initial phase-out began in 2018, with the service stopping the creation of new links in 2019. Google advises users to transition to alternative URL shortening services like Bitly or Ow.ly. Developers should be aware that the warning messages could interfere with the functionality of their links, particularly those involving 302 redirects. 🔗 Link - https://lnkd.in/gaJc9GZb

The November Google Algorithm Update was released yesterday, Nov 11. Here's what we know so far: Helpful Content Update Recovery? Google has communicated weeks ago that there is an update coming soon but those who were negatively impacted by the September 2023 HCU update should not expect to see big recoveries. https://lnkd.in/gJe3pCqN “This update is designed to continue our work to improve the quality of our search results by showing more content that people find genuinely useful and less content that feels like it was made just to perform well on Search.” I'm expecting this to be like the last couple core updates where everyone will see a lot of volatility through the first 2 weeks, with the classic 1-2 weeks of aftershocks. This is being rolled out globally, looking at all content types of content and search intent groups.
