Royal HaskoningDHV’s Post

Today Paradise Bridge -the largest of its kind in Europe- opens in Bergen, Norway! The 42-metre-long truss bridge provides pedestrians and cyclists with a faster, safer passage over a busy road and light rail. Made entirely of fibreglass and carbon composite, it is designed to last 100 years with minimal maintenance. And installation took just one (!) hour. A team at Royal HaskoningDHV, including composite lead engineer Liesbeth Tromp and bridge constructor Kees van IJselmuijden, was responsible for the bridge design and the composite related production quality checks. Many thanks to our client Vestland fylkeskommune and partners Consto AS, CSUB and FiReCo for this great collaboration. Håkon Tryti Nilssen Kjell Hagesæter  Stian Persson Alf Egil Jensen Joris Smits
