On our Distance Cert IBET course, one of the units you will study examines grammar teaching in Business English - this includes the passive voice which is used to talk about, amongst other things, industrial processes. One the best videos we have seen that can be used as a carrier for teaching the passive voice is the below video from British-based multinational packaging company Rexam PLC (now part of Ball Corporation). How many instances of the passive voice can you find? How could you use such a video in your Business English training?

Worth listening to, though, I'd like to know who writes the programs the instructors deliver? its becoming more and more important that there are we informed and qualified instructional designers/ learning designers doing this work. Since I took up the LD course short comings are so obvious in so many courses, the NZCLD program prepares you well for life writing courses and training packages though, having the NZCATT L5 goes even further in being able to do the work by incorporating 11551 and 11552 both of which are important and relatively demanding standards with regard to assessing and assessment writing. Interestingly they say 'Parents should do a test to prove they know the rules / how to teach' yeah man, that's the I or in Auz the DIA course - now we are going full circle in understanding that knowledge costs money either in preparing oneself and doing the course or paying someone who has done the course.. mum and dad as driving instructors is a big issue and not a good idea unless supported in a bigger community space by professionals qualified. I have written a course for this situation - it includes the use of a qualified instructor and mums and dads coming in once a month or so for group training and discussion sessions where they can share tgeir experiences and build better skills.
