At the heart of ROYC Group is our exceptional team, embodying the true essence of our company. Meet Magnus Hamilton, our talented Investor Services Officer at our Stockholm office. We sat down with Magnus to learn more about him: 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. I come from southern Sweden and was raised in the countryside. After completing my studies in Business Administration and Economics at Lund University, I started working in different positions within the wealth management sector. In my last position at Formue Sverige, I developed a keen interest in the intersection of tech and wealth management, how innovative tools and platforms could make financial services more accessible, efficient, and personalized. This interest made the decision to join ROYC a no-brainer! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗢𝗬𝗖? The dynamic environment with its constant drive for innovation and finding new solutions. But also the people, of course, being part of a passionate team from diverse backgrounds means that you’re constantly learning from others and approaching problems from multiple perspectives. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂? The opportunity to make an impact. I love tackling different challenges and coming up with solutions. Being surrounded by equally driven people who are passionate about what they do, and where everyone’s pushing towards the same goals, really inspires me and keeps me going. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸? My favorite ways to unwind are spending time in the kitchen, cooking up a nice meal. I find the process very relaxing, especially when having friends and family over for dinner. I also enjoy going out for a meal to enjoy good food, drinks, and company. What a successful Business Development Forum! Fuelco Australia's team had an exhilarating couple of days filled with insightful discussions, engaging presentations, and strategic planning sessions spanning across all departments. The first two days were dedicated to delving deep into pertinent topics, refining strategies, and fostering innovative ideas to drive the company forward. But it wasn't all work and no play! The team also enjoyed a day of bonding and rejuvenation through various team-building activities. Culture at #Vincular and its importance for me Reflecting on my 12-year journey in building Vincular, I realize how much I've learned and still learning. Running a business is vastly different from working in a large corporation. In a startup, you are involved in various functions, from billing to customs, and you learn how to manage and grow a business. This experience has made me more responsible and has given me a broader perspective on not just business but also how to lead a fulfilling life. My corporate career taught me the importance of clear communication and mutual respect in the workplace. This helped me understand the value of workplace culture and influenced how we shaped the culture in the organisation. Engagement Manager 👉 How long have you been in the growAG team? Over 3 years 👉 Where did you work prior to growAG? I was working in accounting firms, handling ASIC admin and implementing new systems. The opportunities I had in my previous role really set up me up for success moving into the ag tech and innovation space, particularly in understanding some of the challenges and opportunities when it comes to new technology and systems. 👉 What’s your favourite part about the role? Something I was asked only very recently by a startup founder I had just started working with was “wow do you just love your job, because you get to talk about exciting new innovation all the time with interesting and passionate people?” My answer was a resounding “yes”. I would also say that what I think is really special about my role is the privilege of seeing the impact from the support we provide in real time, it is so incredibly satisfying and rewarding! 👉 What’s your favourite ecosystem event? I mean, it has to be AgriFutures evokeAG – bringing together such a diverse cross section of people and organisations from across the global agrifood innovation value chain. 👉 Where would you find me outside work? Probably either playing tennis with friends or visiting my family in Deniliquin! 👉 Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you. I once caught a wild crocodile with my bare hands! To be fair, it was just a baby. While living and working in Nhulunbuy, NT, during my travels around Aus, I found a baby croc on the road outside our house. We didn’t keep it, of course—we placed it in a box and called a ranger to return it to the wild!
