Charities are playing a crucial role in supporting the Singapore Green Plan 2030 for Environmental, Social and Government (ESG) compliance. From promoting sustainable practices to fostering social responsibility, these organisations are making a significant impact. At our recent seminar on “ESG for charities – Sustainable Practices”, our Not-for-Profit Practice engaged with charities and Institutes of Public Character (IPCs) on prevalent ESG topics, exploring sustainable practices and the importance of adopting these measures in the face of climate change. Sovann Giang, Deputy Industry Lead of our Not-for-Profit Practice, led the discussions as he reviewed past measures as well as the ESG landscape in Singapore. In addition, he focused on action plans that offered attendees specific and measurable guidelines to calculate their Business Environmental Impact. As the importance of good ESG practices continue to grow, RSM is able to provide advice for charities and IPCs to ensure that their practices are sustainable and leave a lasting impact for the future generation. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 🌱 As we embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving and prepare for the joy of Christmas, it’s the perfect time to focus on how charities can create lasting and positive changes for people and the planet. One of the most impactful ways to do this is by implementing robust ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices into your operations. Here are three tips charities can consider for integrating ESG into their operations: ✅ Charities can make use of ESG Standards to identify their positive and negative ESG impacts ✅ Review and strengthen governance structures, initiatives, policies, practices and metrics ✅ Demonstrate how your initiatives contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals like ending poverty, zero hunger, good health & well-being, quality education and combating climate change. This alignment is key to building trust and gaining support from donors and stakeholders. This season of giving – Let us help your charity build a sustainable future—not just for today, but for generations to come. 🌍 **Driving Real-World impact through Sustainability ** 🌱 As we launch AXA IM’s 2023 Sustainability Report, I’m excited about the progress we’ve made towards our sustainability goals. Our Progress Monitor KPIs show significant achievements not just in climate action - achieving a 48.6% reduction (almost double our ambitious goal) in portfolio carbon intensity since 2019 - but also in areas such as natural capital, societal impact, and engagement. We are channeling capital towards projects that support biodiversity, health access, and financial inclusion, while fostering a culture of sustainability within our organization. This holistic approach reinforces our commitment to make a positive, measurable impact across enviromental and social fronts. At AXA IM, transparency and accountability are key in building trust with our clients, partners and employees and driving long-term impact. #Sustainability #ESG #ProgressMonitor #NetZero #CSR Samuel Bitton Nidhi Villait Marco Morelli Ulrike Decoene Alexandre Martin-Min Gilles Moec Fiona Swallow Martin Powell Joseph Behar Tracy Knatt Olha Lebegue - Herhel
The path to a sustainable future demands more than commitment; it calls for impactful action and transparency. At AXA IM, our commitments are driving positive environmental and social change across three key areas. We're reducing emissions from our investments and operations, engaging with investee companies, employees, and society, and allocating capital to projects that foster a more inclusive, sustainable future. Some highlights of 2023: - Making real-world change through responsible investment: over €480 billion of our AUM categorised as ESG-integrated, sustainable, or impact assets. - Significant strides in advancing Natural Capital: we have deployed €919 million towards companies and projects aimed at conserving, protecting and restoring natural capital. - Progressing on our operational carbon footprint reduction: we have reduced it by 33% since 2019. - Driving engagement: we increased engagement with investee companies by 14% in 2023, with a focus on climate, biodiversity, social and governance topics. - Building sustainable communities: we donated over €1.1 million to charitable organisations as part of our Impact Philanthropy and Volunteering programs. With the second edition of the AXA IM For Progress Monitor and associated Sustainability Report, we share the actions we've taken over the past year and the progress we've made toward our goals, and reveal how we’re turning responsible practices into real-world outcomes that matter.
