NewBees NL is our partner and a social enterprise that matches newcomers, (people who are new to the Netherlands) with traineeships where they can utilise their talents and prepare for a job. They focus on integration through participation, helping individuals build a new life, community, and career. In partnership with NewBees, we developed cutting-edge tools to measure and visualise the societal impact of these integration efforts. Through our Framework for Impact Statements, we've enabled NewBees to quantify their contributions to society — not just in terms of economic value but also in social cohesion and cultural enrichment. The Youth Empowered programme, which Coca-Cola HBC has been running for 7 consecutive years, in all the countries where it operates, is for me personally a very important project that can inspire young people and sometimes even determine their future career choices. I was born and grew up in Šilalė, where I attended primary and secondary school. However, I personally have always lacked the exposure to the world, the opportunity to see and hear inspiring presentations that would influence my future and especially my career. The first time my teacher took me, probably as a tenth-grader, to Klaipėda, where there was a youth programme, discussions on different subcultures and workshops led by well-known musicians and stars from Lithuania - I was blown away 🤯. I felt that I had finally crossed the boundaries of my hometown, that this is just the beginning, that I can build the career I want - it's just a matter of moving in the direction I want and working hard. I have great faith that Coca-Cola HBC's Youth Empowered programme can have the same impact on today's young people, broadening their skills and understanding of the world. I invite young people to join the online event next Tuesday (15th October) and be inspired by some of Lithuania's most prominent people, who will share insights on artificial intelligence, the future competences employers will expect from you, how not to burn out in the face of pressures from teachers, parents, society to do well in education and choose a well-paid profession, and many other topics I'm sure you'll find relevant. There are two sides to every story. Working on projects is not only making sure that the content and tools you develop are high-quality and suitable for target group. It is also about the collaboration and the sense of belonging each partner feels within the project. 🔥 And this made my day today. This is a snapshot from the process evaluation of an Erasmus+ project that my team at GoINNO coordinates. It is moments like these that remind you the effort is worth it (even though in some projects you have a feeling, when things do not go well, you will become completely grey 😉). Just yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting Kim Nghia Dinh in the vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh, and it was nothing short of inspiring! Nghia, with his extensive background in education and entrepreneurship, provided invaluable insights into Vietnam’s dynamic education market. For those who don’t know, Nghia is a prominent leader in educational initiatives and innovation, dedicated to bridging the gap between business and academia in Vietnam. Our discussion revolved around exploring the possibilities of leveraging learning technologies and experimenting with solutions tailored specifically for the education sector. We focused on collaborative ideation and laying the groundwork for practical, small-scale trials. This prototype phase is essential as we aim to deepen our understanding of how digital learning tools can be effectively adapted and optimized in this market. What makes this even more exciting is our potential collaboration with institutions like UEH – International School of Business, a distinguished arm of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City known for fostering global perspectives in business education. Their commitment to bridging international standards with local educational needs makes them an ideal partner for innovation. Today I woke up remembering how important it was for my professional development to participate in a project as a volunteer. For those who don't know, not too long ago, about 10 years ago, I was a volunteer at Acredita Portugal, where I dedicated some time to developing a tool for creating entrepreneurial projects, helping in the mission to boost entrepreneurial spirit and foster the emergence of new businesses. This greatly helped in building some soft skills that I believe make a big difference in my professional life today, such as teamwork, communication skills, and adaptability. Today I realize that everything also connects with Active Learning Methodologies, which work on the development of soft skills, stimulating collaboration, which is essential for teamwork, and developing the ability to solve problems creatively and effectively, which improves adaptability.

My training journey started since I was playing teacher back in the days, 40 something years ago. At that time, I was just playing and enjoying the feeling, until I had the chance to conduct a semi-formal training for a Laboratory Cooperative in Sto. Tomas High School in Danao City, Cebu, during my high school days. The feeling was surreal, back then. There was a mixture of excitement, and a surge of energy I never experienced before, as if I was floating in the air. I felt very good at what I was doing and that teaching kids about the basics and importance of cooperative and the benefits of saving money makes sense at that time. After that, I worked at a very young age, before and during college, so I forgot how that felt. For a very long time, I thought I was just working to put food on the table. To survive. I thought being an adult means being bored at what I was doing because I have a responsibility to feed my family. After giving up the corporate life and failed several entrepreneurship adventures, I was thriving in the online industry in 2014 and I felt obligated to share the opportunities I found as a Virtual Assistant. Though unsure of what I was doing, I started training for free because I believe I have an obligation to share the opportunity that I learned to as many mothers out there who are feeling hopeless because they can't work due to family responsibilities. I felt the need to share my message, that people can work from home and take care of their families at the same time, instead of leaving and working abroad. This is where my passion for training started and eventually, it became my mission to share every skills and knowledge that I have, hoping to help families out there have better career or business choices. I never imagined that my passion for training will bring many opportunities as well, and will make me want to learn more, so I can share more. You might be wondering why am I sharing this. Because very recently, we've concluded three #IDEASproject graduation for batches 4, 5 and 6 for Rizal, NCR and Quezon. The IDEAS project is a Digital Transformation program funded by ASIA-Korea Cooperation fund, in collaboration with #WomenBizPH where I am one of the trainers given the opportunity to train 300 amazing women MSMEs for a chance to showcase their Filipino-made products to the ASEAN market in 2026. I am grateful and overjoyed to share this amazing experience with you, that I never imagined possible. From simply learning how to work from home, to training Virtual Assistants, and now, to training and coaching empowered women MSMEs in their digital transformation, my journey has been a real roller coaster ride. We proudly present Nettiquette, a project funded by Erasmus+ to foster low skilled adults’ and adult learners’ awareness, knowledge and skills to take part in the digital society critically, consciously and responsibly. Assist international HR is working on this project together with eight partner organisations from the Czech Republic, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece, Belgium, Spain, France and Turkey. In line with European strategic priorities, the project will provide participating organisations with a set of tangible innovative and high-quality results to address the key role played by netiquette in adult learners’ daily lives, educational settings and the workplace. And it will also tackle common needs and challenging issues that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in the participating countries, which uncovered the centrality of adult education and lifelong learning to foster digital readiness.
