The #1 mistake startup founders and entrepreneurs make with their first hire is to hire themselves. 🪞 It’s really important to look for fit when you’re hiring. So it’s tempting to think that if someone is like you, they will be a good fit. This is correct from a values perspective - they should want the same things you want and be comfortable working in the style you setup for your company. But it’s a huge swing and a miss to hire someone exactly like you - they will reinforce some of the best parts of you, but you’ll both have the same blindspots and weaknesses. Find the people who complement you - they will bring a lot of needed perspective to your business. I started a free community to help startup founders and entrepreneurs to build and lead their dream team to 7x revenue without costly rehires Comment “Invite” and I’ll DM you an invite for free! #entrepreneurship #startup #businessgrowth

Wednesday Wisdom for Founders... When it comes to scaling your tech startup, remember that hiring the right team isn't just about filling vacancies. In my experience and studying some of the most successful entrepreneurs, the most successful startups aren't created by one brilliant mind 🧠. Success is rather a collaborative effort of many talented individuals who complement each other's skills and knowledge. Validate what you need and then surround yourself with experts in each area of your business and remove the roadblocks for them to do what they do best. You'll speed up your success and innovate quicker if you build the right complimentary team 🚀. #WednesdayWisdom #HiringTips #Entrepreneurship #Founders

Building a Startup in 2024? Read this: As a seasoned entrepreneur, I've seen my fair share of successes and failures. Here are some key lessons I've learned: 1. Ego is the enemy: → Don't let your vision overshadow collaboration. → Delegate tasks and embrace diverse perspectives. 2. Hire for the future: → Look beyond immediate needs. → Invest in employees who can grow with your company. 3. Embrace feedback: → Be open to criticism. → Learning from your mistakes is essential for growth. 4. Focus on your startup: → Avoid distractions. → Your startup requires your full attention and commitment. 5. Know when to quit: → Don't be afraid to let go. → Sometimes, failure can be a stepping stone to success. Do you agree with these points? Share your thoughts below.

Are you trying to do everything yourself in your startup? Success isn't an attempt to be superhuman; it's a concentration on areas of your strengths while outsourcing for the rest. Many entrepreneurs have fallen into the trap of doing way too much, resulting in burnout and mediocre results. Instead, bring in the people who excel at tasks you find challenging. Not only does this approach help in improving efficiency, but it saves costs in the long run. Paying attention to your strengths will save you from costly mistakes from doing things outside your expertise; you will have better results from the experts whom you hire. This is strategic move to grow your business faster while minimizing costs and mistakes. Video credit: myrongolden/Instagram #entrepreneurs #hiring #startup #business

What’s the SINGLE most effective method you’ve used to uncover root causes? Understanding how to create a clear problem statement can be the key to ensuring your startup addresses real customer needs and avoids common pitfalls. Here are two insights to help you craft an effective problem statement: 1. Identify the Root Cause: Simply describing symptoms won't cut it. Dive deep to uncover the underlying issues your target customers are facing. Use surveys, interviews, and market research to gather data and validate your findings. 2. Be Specific and Concise: A good problem statement is clear and to the point. Avoid vague language and focus on the specific problem. For example, instead of saying "Customers are unhappy," say "Customers find our onboarding process too complex, leading to a high dropout rate during the first week." Being clear about the problem is the first step to developing a successful solution. Understand the core issues, and ensure your startup is poised to address them effectively. #solopreneur #entrepreneurship #startups #founders #cofounders #ceo

Look carefully at these 4 pictures Can you find something thats common in all? There's one thing similar in all 4 Come on Give it a try before reading further. Ok, let me tell it. I love 'rolling my sleeves up' thats my default version. When you are a startup founder → rolling up your sleeves isn't an option → it's essential. Rolling up the sleeves mean You need to ↳ lead by example. ↳ get directly involved. ↳ engage in every detail. ↳ handle the tough tasks. It's easy to sit back. Wait for others to do the heavy lifting. But when it comes to startups, 'others' don't exist. It's just you your team and your vision. When its your startup → every sleeve rolled up counts → rolling the sleeve up is an informal dress code Are you also a "roll up the sleeve" person? #RollUpTheSleeve #SleevesUpHeadDown
